I was at a video update/movie gallery today, and was looking at the PSX rentals. they have about 5 or 6 big box games for rental. I quickly ran over to the psx selling games, and noticed 5 for sale. I picked up PO'ed, Descent, and Philosoma. The other two were MK3, in a large glass jewel case, and I think Jumping Flash in one also. it might have not been jumping flash, but it was a fishing game with a lure on the cover. these raise a few ???'s.

1)Now, at 8 bucks a peice, are mk3 and jumping flash good deals? (big box)

2) PO'ed was scratched to hell, and my psx thought it was a music cd. Will skip dr fix it?

3)What are the worths of all of these games? (no instructions in the 3 i got)

Maybe Philosoma, if it has instructions. 8 is a little high for the others though.

PO'ed i got for free, and Descent was 5 bucks. so i guess you could say 2.50 for both.

I'd buy jumping flash for eight dollars, but I don't think it has a fishing lure on the cover....actually, I'd probably be looking for complete for eight dollars, though. Also, Jumping flash isn't a fishing game.

what does the cover of jumping flash look like?

It has a white robotic rabbit on the front page.

I have gotten most of my Long Box games for around 5 bucks. Some like Raiden Project, X-com, Primal Rage and Lemmings are gong to cost you more, but there are always good deals out there. I won't buy a long box game if it isn't complete.

You guys that are saying how much you'd pay for X or Y longbox game (commons, not X-Com etc.)--are you assuming used, complete games? If so, would you pay extra for new, sealed longbox games? If so, how much?

I have about 10 sealed and I payed about 10 bucks for each of them. Sealed is nice as long as you have an open to back it up.

Yeah, I paid about $8-$10 each for the sealed longbox games I picked up a couple of months ago (Novastorm and Jupiter Strike). The thing is, I just took them home and opened them up to play! LOL I guess the major benefit I got out of getting them sealed was that they weren't all fucked up like the usual longbox game you buy used.

I've been pretty lucky with most of the long box games I've found. Most have been pretty immaculate. The only one that was a little messed up was Viewpoint, but as with most mentioned so far it was a rental.

Good luck finding a formal rental that old in good shape.

I don't think $8-$10 is too bad if it's in fairly decent shape and has instructions. The most I've paid for one is $8 and that was Silverload.

Most of the ones I have came from Gamestop or EB Games which are both getting pretty thin for PS1 games btw.

I passed up a spare mint complete Philosoma today for $10. I'd slay for a complete Jumping Flash in nice shape though...that's one I want! :)
