I'm always looking for an alternative to the horrible thumbstrap that comes with the DS. I found this on ign today:

The comfort stylus - link to IGN article (http://gear.ign.com/articles/701/701023p1.html)
I've got to admit. I'm intrigued. Has anyone tried this?
I just ordered this one yesterday so I can give you the info later.

I tried one of these at last year's E3 and they do their job quite well; eliminating the monotonous task of constantly unsheathing the stylus when it's needed during games that don't use it often during gameplay. No need to risk losing it by setting it in your lap or to the side.
One of the reps from the company who makes these things started handing them out to people playing DS while waiting in line to play Zelda. She then utterly freaked out when people started putting them into their swagbags, claiming they were only for demonstration. LOL

I ordered one a few weeks back. Finally got a chance to try it out last night. Still figuring out the best way to position the thing on my thumb, but I like it so far.

This company actually conacted us about a year ago and gave us a few samples wanting to know if we wanted to carry them in our store. I declined just due to the fact that it didn't fit in the stylus holder on the ds, and the fact that they don't STRAIGHTEN back out afterwards. Once you bend it, you'll never get it really straight again.
That and they were a bit cheap looking. Hopefully they've upped the production costs a bit.

If it doesn't fit into the stylus holder, where do you keep it?
How does it feel compared to the thumbstrap?

I mainly use my DS on the bus to and from work so I could not imagine using that stylus since, for some reason, it would make me feel a bit odd in public.

Yeah since you can't get it straighten again I guess it is.

It is a fairl stiff piece of wire, coated in a nonslip rubber textured grip.
Question. WTF is the thumbstrap? I know the strap comes with the DS, but I've NEVER figured out what it has to do with a thumb? I even checked the damn manual!

In my DS carrying case. I'd never take my DS anywhere without it, so it makes no difference to me that the ComfortStylus doesn't fit in the DS's stylus holder.

I was wondering the same exact thing...
If someone could shed a bit of light on this, we'd both appreciate it. :D
