I just restarted this game , and damn Im having fun , I had this maybe for the longest time since I was younger like I got it all the way in winter 98 for xmas and still havent beat it , I actually had invested 60 hours into the game before but I still think a bitter friend erased the file , but thats okl since I didnt understand the symbolisms or philosophy in the game and I have been looking for that since mgs series and killer 7 recently.

That's a game I've been meaning to pick up, but I'm sure it'll end up in the backburner like every other I obtain.

the only thing thats a pain in the butt is the controls Its just that you need to make progress and it kinda makes you slow a little and you want to be mobile in a huge game with that much story.

I thought the storyline was pretencious and preachy. But a fun game never the less.

I loved this game. I got it when it came out and played right through it.

To this day it has my favorite end boss battle of all time. I remember it was late, around 2AM, it had been about 2 and a half hours since my last save and I was fighting the final boss. I was holding my own, but was steadily dying, it came down to a one hit situation, if they hit me, I was dead. It was my turn, I had no idea how much life the boss had left, so I threw my most powerful attack at it in a last ditch effort, and bam, the thing keiled over and the ending started.

My heart was racing, my plams sweatty, it was a great gaming moment :)

I almost picked this title up the other day, but it was all freaking scratched and scuffed up to hell. There's some good ratings floating around plus it's done by Square. I'm not a fanboy of Square but to appreciate some of the great classics they made that were a good amount of time well spent.

I hope at least some others will have some cool experiences with the game they can share.

you know, i know that that is an amazing game. but i just couldnt get into it and for a reason that i usually overlook: graphics.

its just so jaggy and wierd looking, a perfect example of pushing it too 3d. if they wouldve went the ff7 route i wouldve enjoyed it more i think.

but anyway, enjoy the game, maybe someday somebody will strap me down in front of me and make me play it haha.

I enjoyed the game, but I never beat it. I was planning to pick up where I left off since I recently found the memory card with the save file on it. I don't remember much about the story but I remember liking the battle system. All in all I say it's still a fun game and a long one if I remember correctly. :)

Still one my fav rpgs to this day. Though like most I was just confused about most of the storyline till the end of the first disc.

Favorite boss fight is when you fight the 4 Elements and they form Voltron. ^^

never finished it, was a little clunky for me, but was great if you invested your time into it, I just never got the need to go back

My thoughts entirely. I bought this game the day it was released (so I have the black label version) because I have to have ALL games with mechs/bots in them. My CDs still look unplayed.

I've put some time in the game.. but I'm still on the 1st disc. I want to purchase a strat guide for this game before I continue it. I wouldn't have gotten through the two Xenosagas.. without them.

My memories of it?

Trying to beat Calamity, losing many times, never bothering to continue again.

pretty much my thoughts on it as well. I loved the combat system, but I couldn't stomach the storyline. The graphic style really appealed to me (the whole 2d sprites in a 3d world thing is totally my cup of tea), though.

That pretty much sums up my final boss battle as well, way to damn close, I didn't even have the super mec. Bart I think his name was gave the final blow with no health and both his team mates dead. I'll never forget how close that ending was.

Yeah, here's my Xenogears memory. Got tired of playing the game for so damn long, passed it off to a friend, who beat it and then showed me the ending. Then I traded it in towards Steel Battalion at my local EB. Guess I just don't have enough patience for these modern-day RPG's.

Yeah, I was really into it for a short period of time because it has some unique features, and I actually liked the storyline, but it just felt too slow and clunky after a while and I quit somewhere towards the end of the first disc. I think it's a bit of an acquired taste.

One of the best games I've ever played. I loved the story, gameplay and graphics. Xenogears is definitely one of Sqare's best efforts.

Words can't described how much I love this game. It's literally the Star Wars of video games. It's story is epic and unparalled by any other game. It destroys any game/book/movie..ect in terms of story, philosophy, romance, and action. I've beat the game 10 times and still love it to this day. The only thing I did'nt like about Xenogears was how square rushed the second disk to release FF7, the game would have been the best game of all time In my book if it were not for this fault. Curse you square!

Ahh, Xenosaga... This was a good game. It took me forever to finally beat it. I started on it, got so far into it, then got stuck. I set it aside for like 6 months before I picked it back up again. This happened a few times. By the time I finally beat it, it had been 2 and a half years since I started it! @_@

And wouldn't you know it, just as I beat the last boss and was settling in for the ending, one of my friends come barging in to see me. On top of that, this particular friend doesn't really understand/appreciate RPGs. Before he could even get a word in, I said "I just beat this game, and it took me 2 and a half years to do it, so you will sit down, shut up, and let me enjoy the ending!" And he did. At least until the final song started playing, then he started trying to sing along in some kind of butchered, mock-chinese sounding voice. I had to yell at him to get him to shut up again.

After all that was over, and I'd finally finished the game that had hounded me for so long, I put it in the freezer.
