Has anyone picked this up? I must admit, I haven't seen the anime yet (it's on my to do list as it's gotten excellent recommendations from friends) but reading the review on IGN it seems pretty darn novel and entertaining.
The idea of using music to change up move sets is pretty brilliant and an idea I've had for a fighting game for a long, long time (Power Chord, heh).
I think I'm going to pick it up based off of the game features alone, but if anyone's actually played it and can vouch for it, it'll just spur me on more-so.

I've not seen the anime, but I'm intrigued in the game. I heard there's a level that's like a whacked-out SMB clone.

I just learned that Grasshopper (Killer 7) developed this game. I'm in like Flynn.
Was Suda 51 directly involved?

it sucked. Don't buy it. Here is the whole game in a nut shell, kill kill kill, load screen, cut scene, load screen, kill kill kill, load screen, kill kill kill, load screen, cut scene, another load screen, go into tension mode, load screen, kill kill kill, get a prize, load screen, kill kill kill, load screen.
As you can tell their is way too many load screen, not short load screens either. It's pretty much a broken game as far as fighting. Rent it maby if your a fan of the series, but don't even bother if youre new to the series.

I just started playing this game. This one's going to be a gem people are going to overlook.
It is a slasher/brawler in the vein of Dynasty Warriors, Devil May Cry, God of War, et all. And as far as graphical process goes, it's nothing to get amazed over, but like Killer 7, it's got TONS of style to spare.
Yes, Suda 51 DID direct this game. The influences channeled up with Killer 7 are all over this title in spades.
The soundtrack is phenomenal, and you literally equip two musical arrangements at a time. You can switch between them at will and each soundtrack will give you different branching sets of attacks.
Combat is fairly straight forward, but contains multiple unique twists including a fairly robust countering system, and the ability to enter a trance mode where you can whip across the screen violently ripping up foes. Also, the much talked about Tate mode which is very strange to describe. You essentially have to slash up a guy 100 and then fight 100 foes in a Kill Bill vol.1-like setting to earn new weapons and lots of cash.
But, yes, there are quite a few load screens, and they are fairly intrusive. Keep this in mind if you're on the fence about this one.
Anyway, Killer7 or Suda 51 fans must buy this game. Now. Before it becomes impossible to find. You have been notified. 8-)

Change a few words; is that your Killer 7 review?
