View Full Version : $30 for a Dragon Quest VIII Controller?

Being employed by Gamestop, while tough on the wallet, yields advantages every now and then. A couple of months ago a manager of mine brought one of the Dragon Quest VIII Slime Controllers over from another Gamestop. The price tag at the time was $40, but just recently it dropped to $30. With my meager employee discount, it would set me back around $27 to scoop it up. Not being much of a Dragon Quest nor Square Enix fan, I would most likely go ahead and sell it. Checking eBay yielded very little of note, so I must inquire to the value of said item. Would it be worth it (profit wise) to buy it and immediately sell it on here, gametz, or some other gaming enthusiast web site? Thanks in advance for responses, as they will be most appreciated.

I say yes. Be sure to take it out of the packaging when you take the eBay pictures. That helps a lot in cutting down the glare the plastic shell-thing causes.

No, $30's about the going price. Best to leave it be and let someone who actually wants one save themselves the shipping cost.

Man, I remember when I payed $60 to import that slime controller. Me having $60 is probably like one of you having $1000.
I then tried to trade it to another member here (shai hulud). I sent it to him and he was supposed to send me 4 games for it but he never did. He came back to the message boards like 8 months later and said that he had moved and didn't have the chance to open the boxes of his games and said he would send it.
He never did....
