That's the Game Boy Advance version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo. It's definitely one of my most-played GBA games, and a very nice, incredibly playable, handhelp version of SFII.

Agreed, I still play it a lot to this day. In my opinion it's way better than the GBA Street Fighter Alpha 3 port.

It's a great version as SFII, regardless of whether its portable or not. It plays very well, very fast. Controls are fantastic, despite only having 4 buttons instead of six. I was super impressed when I bought it and that was the only GBA game I played for weeks afterwards :D There are reward points (called VS points) for beating opponents that can be used to unlock stuff like art galleries or different modes, which is a definite bonus.

Problem is that the game is really glitchy. Theres an entire FAQ at gamefaqs about just the gitches. There are two real doozies.

The first is that you're supposed to fight Akuma if you beat all the opponents in arcade mode without losing once but after you defeat Sagat, it shows a pixelly version of Akuma's face and plays his music, and that's it. The game crashes. You can never fight Akuma in arcade mode. You can never finish the game perfectly. You have to make sure you lose at least one round otherwise the game crashes :(

The second is a glitch related to the Akuma glitch. If you encounter the Akuma glitch, it can totally screw up your best times for the different modes, can screw up your VS. points totals, can basically screw your cartridge. I've heard of people that have gotten the Akuma glitch and then couldn't accumulate any more VS. points after that point (meaning they could never unlock stuff) :(

So, its a great game, but it just didn't get tested enough (if at all)

I always passed on Revival thinking it was gunna be, too big a challange, to squish down an SF game to the GBA, but i very recently played alpha 3 and was very impressed, but then you guys go and say revival is better still Grrr! I'ma gunna have to wrangle me a copy o' that game, dag nammit!

If I remember correctly it was delayed and delayed and then THERE IT WAS. LOL Early Christmas season rush release? I also remember the only store I could find it at was Toys'R'Us. Great boxart too.

Man, people will post any old crap on Google video x_x

A 1 vs. 1 vs. the computer with a 1 and 1/2 minute PAUSE in the first round... The guy just abuses fireballs, something you could never get away with in a PvP game.

thats wierd, I've beaten the game on arcade mode without dying and never encountered akuma (much less the glitch)

one question i did have though, I got my copy from a kid at a pokemon league and it had the bonus points and unlockables all maxed out, is there a way to erase the save on the cart?

i'd like to unlock all the stuff..its really not too fun to play it without any of the "rewards"

i've tried ye ole tricks of hold buttons when rebooting, pulling it out when the power was on ;-) and throwing it across the room...anyone know of a non-flash cart way of doing it? (or taking out the battery)

It's a homebrew fighting game engine that you can mod to build games around with your own sprites, etc.

Mugen = Make your own fighting game. Add characters, backgrounds, artwork, music, lifebars, and such. Rather fun, but the entire scene is filled with retards. I still get requests for stuff, even though I deleted everything THREE YEARS AGO. I've resorted to blocking people from visiting my site if their referrer is a Mugen site.

I used to make stages for the engine. Created around 100? different ones, but most were rather simple. I stopped doing stuff when I upgraded to Windows XP (since it's a DOS program), and when Elecbyte (the company which created the engine) vanished.

Anyway, I've heard nothing but bad things regarding Capcom's GBA ports of SFA3, SSFIIR, and Puzzle Fighter; I wanted to buy SSFIIR, but after reading about that bug in this thread, there's no way in hell I'll do it. I've heard that the games weren't reprogrammed by Capcom, but by an outside developer, is that true?

I was thinking the same thing ;) I mean where is quality control?
