Okay, so I downloaded Popful Mail from the Underdogs' site as suggested in another thread. Someone is offering to see it to me, and I'd really like to see if I'd even enjoy the game first.

Problem: GENS hangs right after sonic throws the sparkles in boot up sequence. Note that this does not happen when playing my rom of Keio Flying Squadron. Any idea what's up with this?

Also, I was going to try burning it to a CD to see if that helped, but GENS doesn't see my CD drives. It says I need to install an ASPI layer. Can this hurt the functionality of my CD drives at all? Thanks for your time.

Alright, figured popful mail out. For future reference to anyone that has this problem, you simply need to go into the GENS menu and turn on perfect synchro.

The ASPI question still stand though! Can anyone shed any ligh on it?

All you need to do is get the Adaptec Aspi32 or Aspi64 program and install it. All it does is tell your emulators (TG-16, SegaCD, PSX, etc.) to read your disc drives.

It is used in many different programs.

And it won't affect you cd drives in any negative way either. If anything more programs that need to use the cd-rom drives (cd-r win..etc) will work after installing the ASPI layer as well. You can get it from www.adaptec.com

I use the KEGA emulator for my Genesis roms, and its menu does say
it can handle SEGA CD roms.
