I downloaded it and tried it out, but you know what? The 3DO version is still the best version by far. Especially now that the 3DO version can actually be experienced in R G bizzle.

I remember playing the game as a kid and being extremely annoyed with the game, but still continued onward with it. I never did beat it tho, it got too hard for me at one point.

I wouldn't really consider it a re-make, more like slightly upgraded graphics. I ordered it for the hell of it tho, if anything just to show some support.

Now it's just a waiting game for the key.

Out of the future updated?

Great scott! this is heavy!

edit: I just finished the demo - damn lightnign bolt screwing over the professor and his ferrari ...

Since it was called collector's edition, I was hoping you could get an actual physical copy. I'd love to get it if they ever made one.

I use to joke the old version on the PC, but years later when I played it again (A few months back) it had a different feel for me. I guess it just took quite a few years for the title to finally grow and attach to my needs as a gamer.

Great game by the way, but a bit difficult. Another great game similar to this is Heart of Darkness, which I really loved for the PS1. Matter of fact I might need to bust that game out again sometime soon.

I used to really be fond of this game when it came out, beating the Genesis and SNES versions. It sure was a unique game.,..nothing else quite like it, really.

It's weird, some people can't stand the game, or claim it's too hard, and I'll admit it sure is quirky and it isn't always obvious what to do, but I did beat it in a day back when it came out, so I can't say I totally understand when some folks say the game is near impossible or say something like that.

I wasn't busting on anybody that thought it was overly difficult, I just meant that I think it's one of those games that people are very divided on...either you are very good with the game, or you aren't...with not much middle ground, unlike most other games. This quality further adds to the game's quirkyness, imo. :-)

Some people just don't like the trial and error gameplay. Kids nowadays just want everything handed to them on a platter :(

I thought it was absolutely amazing and is one of my favorite games of all time. One of the richest parts of the game is the bond you make with the alien captive. Brilliant how much can be conveyed without speaking.

I'd go so far as to call Out of this World an origin point in Ico's lineage. It was certainly a focal point in my gaming experience.

I never really played this game when it was new, but i clearly remember reading about it in magazines etc. Looked really cool and the game has its own charm :)

I agree. I could swear there is an interview article out there where OOTW's influence on Ico is confirmed.

The game design's overall attitude is pretty much "do x in an exact , sometimes vague way or f'ing die". If this game wasn't so beautiful in almost every other aspect, I have my doubts anyone would really tolerate such horribly restrictive design, let alone have positive opinions of it (and this is coming from someone who loves the damn game).

As for the remake...God damn it...I already own four different versions of this game...do I really need another one? =P

Don't forget the sequel, Heart of the Alien, for the Sega CD.

I'm impressed with this update. The graphics look great and thankfully don't really stray from the original's style.

I loved how I strugged to understand why I kept sinking to the bottom of the first pool, unable to "jump" when I was a kid.

Guys, I know I said this earlier, but make sure you try the 3DO version if at all possible. It's cleary the best version I have ever seen. The backgrounds are amazing, and it just has really great atmosphere. It was one of the 3DO's early releases, and I think it should ALWAYS be ranked in the top 10 of 3DO games.
