Hi,

If I temporarilly modded my XBOX (chip) and used it to boot the Enigmah Video Mode Changer, in order to change my PAL xbox to NTSC, and use HDTV modes... Would it be detected by Microsoft, would they care? (with mod chip removed obviously)

I ask this because I still use Live on the original XBOX, and would hate to be banned. I also would like to run games in 480p / 720p

Thanks for your time,
Dan

this is theoretical, but my guess would be you wouldn't be able to use xbox live with the changed EPROM settings - basically because your PAL games wouldn't boot on the NTSC bios.

I've never personally tested it though.

Try softmodding. I have a softmodded xbox that I use to play import games on Xbox Live, works a treat.

technically, the bios is still a EURO bios. I know this because I have tested it, the thing that I was wanting to know was will Microsoft ban me from Live for doing this? Because I know they ban people with mod chips.

I would also mainly like to keep my XBOX as original as possible, i.e. An easily reversable modification.

As long as you don't change the HDD or the KEY, it should be fine. But all the same i'd test it with a 2 month trial account first.

Thanks for advice (you too Juganawt) I'll try that out. Now just to find a trial, no easy task around these parts.
