Not mine (I wish). Right here:

CAT BOX (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8276421433&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1)

.. haven't seen one of these in years. This should be interesting.. I've seen them go for $500.

I have two other friends that have Jaguars, all 3 of us bought them on release. My friend Jon (I've lost touch with) used to get us all together and used his Cat Box to link us up to play Doom.. great fun. He sold his years ago.. for a pittance.

There was one a few months ago on Ebay.

What exactly does this Cat Box do? I own loads of rare Jag stuff but I never heard of this little guy.

Yeah.. but he DIDN'T let it go at that price either.

SM.. the Cat Box was somewhat like a router. While you COULD hook up two Jags using a JagLink.. this unit was used for playing games in a LAN-like fashion. When I played Doom with my friends.. we each had to bring our own Jags AND TVs for each of us. Real multiplayer Doom.. with each player watching his own screen. You can't do that with a Jag-link as I recall.

It also provided some extra outputs for peripherals and functionalities that never came to fruition on the Jaguar.

It was listed very, very poorly. Yes, it did have a few hundred page hits, but it could have had very many more. He listed it in the "game" category and didn't include both spellings (I've seen both used... CatBox and Cat Box). I also love how he inexplicably paid for the extra photo of the exact same shot.

He also had the auction end on Easter Sunday, at around the time where most families are eating dinner (we don't even celebrate that holiday, but it's still a day where we all get together). Talk about terrible planning.

Edit: Just checked the relist and for some reason, he has this auction running for only five days and he has it ending on Saturday night, by far the worst night to have stuff ending. Awful.

Thanks Scorch. Cool little device. I can see why it's hard to come by. LAN was still agrowing technology back then.

Damn. I could use something like that. I've been looking for something like that for ages. Maybe if I had that, I may even get back into buying games and playing my Jaguar
