Best Mario Party for Gamecube?

I need to get one, just don't know which. I've played the one with the microphone-it was ok, but I'm really looking for the one with the best minigames.

Four is the best. 5,6 and 7 are just not really good.

I know this is about GCN, but I really prefer the ones on the N64.

I have to go with 4 as well. It tinkered with the original formula the least, and while the changes they made in 5-7 are pretty decent, the games aren't quite as good.

I think, though, that if you like one Mario Party, you're likely to enjoy them all.

I too like 4 alot, but I think the pinnacle is 5, where they really starting speeding up the COM players.
I like 6 as well. I purchased 7 the DAY it came out and have only played in once.
While me, my friend, and my brother have played the shit out of 4-6, I think something new needs to really happen to the series. If they keep coming out I will still buy them regardless, but am starting to tire alittle.

Oh yeah, I really hate the "GIMMICK" type boards on 6+7. The best course ever is on 6 which it's the one in the tree house type thing. (That one really isn't a gimmick board)

Mario Party 4, its the one i have and used to play all the time, never played the others after it.

I also prefer the fourth, the games seem to become worse and worse as the series progresses. But for the record, Mario Party 2 has always been my favorite.
