Of course.. we ALL know that Microsoft would never intentionally copy someone else's work; and that EVERY new concept they come up with.. is original and entirely their own (like that "DOS" thing), but I was leafing through EGM tonight and saw this article on the upcoming 360 game called Too Human.
Hmmm.. I says to myself.. that lead character looks familiar.. like someone I've seen in the distant past. Directly below is that Too Human character.. directly below him is whom I speak of.
A gold star goes to the first person who can tell me what game the 2nd guy is from. Don't let the picture mislead you though.. it's taken from the box obviously and NOT in-game.
And no.. neither one of them is an angry, young Ted Danson.

What do you mean? Its well known that Microsoft bought QDOS back in 1980 and delevoped it further.

That's a bone of contention amongst many. Some people assert that Gates had DOS in his hands before Microsoft was even formed; and that he "somewhat" stole it from it's REAL developers. I choose to believe the latter.

According to Pirates of the Silicon Valley they bought DOS for $50,000 from some college students.
It was the idea of a visual OS that they copied….

Microsoft was formed in 1975 (or the name Microsoft was changed in 1976). So your saying that Bill Gates had DOS in 1974 or earlier? DOS wasnt even created then. Google for DOS history :) You can belive what you want of course, but i would check facts and history first.

Ok.. I'll give a couple of hints:
It may or may not be a VIDEO game..
think "adventure" genre.

Well the top guy's stubble-headed and the bottom guy isn't.. but I'm looking at the faces. I think they both look like an angry Ted Danson though ;) .
BTW.. who are "dot" and "cable"?.. or am I missing something? (I don't watch TV much.)

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
Nice to know some of us remember our "PC" roots.. ;)
Congrats. (5000 meseta to you sir. Don't know what you can do with it [actually I do].. but I don't need them.)
BTW.. come on guys.. I don't REALLY think MS or SK (the developers) ripped off anybody. They have better things to do. I just thought it was interestingly similar and made good conversation.

Eh, two guys with Zappers and extra sharp brass knuckles (whatever you call these!) is what I see. Not to be a party pooper, but I think that Batman and Captain America are WAY too similar. They both have things they can throw, and they both have fancy outfits. Clearly the good Cap'n is a ripoff!

The top guy looks like one of the enemies from Tron 2.0. I thought that the second pic was gonna be from that game.
No idea what game the second pic is from, but look here:

I actually thought that either you or Griking would answer this Iron Draggon, because you both seem to be into retro-PC gaming. Dark Earth was an awesome adventure game. Some of the most beautiful graphics I saw for it's time.

Silicon Knights.. I know. Now if somebody could connect Kalisto (the devs of Dark Earth) to Silicon Knights through some degrees of separation.. I'd say.. hmmmm :hmm: .
