This is anything. Show, mechandise, cartoon, toys, books, movie, the lot of it. Even games that are based on games (there are a few).
Post them here.

My vote is for the horrid American Darkstalkers cartoon. That was just painful. Even my love of Capcom won't get me to buy the DVD set that ADV just put out of it.

My runner up is the Street Fighter Movie. I think ever knows why so i'll decline to comment.

Whats your money on?

This isn't necessarily a horrid game related thing, but the Conkers Bad Fur Day condoms kind of had me going "whoah".

Which Sonic cartoon? i hope you mean the cheese-filled weekday version cause the Saturday morning cartoon kicked butt.

Sen. Joseph Lieberman.

It's not fun, it's not cool but it is (somewhat) game related.

@Starcade and Six Switch - I got about a dozen from my work, gave a few away, lost a few, and now i've got a couple floating around. they were promotional items, along with BFD mugs, nuts (peanuts in a bag), and um a couple other things I can't remember.

I've got one. It's a TV show from the late 80s-early 90s that nobody I've ever talked to seems to remember.

Video Power was it's name.

The first season of it, it was a show with an annoying guy named "Johnny Arcade" who did reviews for Gamepro magizine (remember, Video Power is not the same as Gamepro TV). The show had five minute opening with game 'tricks' and previews. Then, a 15 minute cartoon called the "Power Team" starting a host a Acclaim game characters. Featured were Kwirk (from the Gameboy game Kwirk), Kuros (from Wizards & Warriors), a guy from Narc, Tyrone (from Arch Rivals), and Bigfoot the Monster Truck. You read that right... Bigfoot the goddamn fucking Monster Truck. AND, it could talk. They warped out of Johnny Arcade's TV Screen into the real world (sort of like a reverse Captain N) and now fought Mr. Big from Narc. I'll spare you any further details. Then the show ended with another 5 minutes of secret tricks and game previews. After a few episodes, I think they quit airing the cartoon and just did the tricks and previews. Or maybe I just went into a coma while they aired.

The second season of Video Power was a gameshow. Yep, from a 30 minute commerical for Acclaim into a gameshow in one years time... take a wild guess what network it was on.

Anywho, the show was still hosted by Johnny Arcade and the guy who did the annoucing at the 1990 Nintendo Power Fest (aka Nintendo World Championships). Every day, four kids would compete by playing Nintendo games and answering trivia questions about the game. The winner would then be dressed in a jump suit with very, very thin strips of velcro strapped all over them and on the helmet they wore. They would then have 30 seconds to run through this minature gamestore hooking game boxes to the velcro and then make it down this slide before the time limit was up.

Of course, getting a decent amount of games was an act of futility, since the amount of velcro on their body was slim to none. Even worse, they didn't get to keep shit if they didn't get through the store in the aloted time limit.

Now, during the first couple weeks of the show, there were backpacks all over the game store, and they were FULL of games. The first time someone grabbed them, I was like... holy shit, there were like five games in there. The next week, a kid simply grabbed all the backpacks in the store, which will all busting at the seems with games. So, the producers decided to be assholes and stick only one game in each bag. So, one day, this kid manages to grab every bag (like, three) and then went down the slide, content he had a lot of games. WRONG. He had three games, and I even remember what they were. Wraith of the Black Manta, Revenge of Gator (for the GB), and a WALKMAN. A fucking non-video game item. I wouldn't have remembered it, except the kid seriously was almost crying, and it wasn't even a little kid... it was like a 13-15 year old.

So I nominate Video Power as the worst video game related thing ever. May it rest in agony in hell forever.

Hey, Charlie, have you read this? You probably should. It's a personal account from a Video Power contestant, and he's in complete agreement with you about the show.
