We've all heard some pretty strange rumors from time to time, but these are the ones that stick out in my head:
*As a failsafe, Sega and Nintendo made a secret pact so that the very last game on the SNES would star Sonic.
*There were going to be games that were compatible with both the Genesis and SNES. Not the same game for different platforms, I mean you could play the SAME CARTRIDGE on BOTH CONSOLES. It took me a while to wise up to this.
*Wart was going to return in a direct sequel to Super Mario Bros. 2 on the SNES that was going to be much darker than the other Mario games.
*Sonic the Hedgehog 64
*Sega was going to have Sonic killed off in a game following the release of Chaotix
*Super Mario 64 was going to be part of a trilogy of Mario platform games on the N64
*The Genesis was going to have a VR add-on
*A Mario game designed for the Power Glove
*A Sega exercise-based game system for Genesis, similar to the Power Pad or Atari's attempted "Puffer" project
*A Genesis answer to Mario Paint, complete with mouse
*A Game Gear knockoff of Pokemon, in a last desperate attempt to win against Nintendo
