I'm having the same problem. I try them on three different N64s and get the same result. I've only gotten it them to work once out of every 50 tries. But I have used it a lot, almost as much as the games themselves. Maybe we wore off the contacts of the GS carts.

It depents on the version of the GS and how old the game is. For example, I have a vr.2.1 and It won't even turn-on when it's attached to Super Smash Bros. I just going to assume that SSB was one of the N64's later releases, since I've never actually checked the date :embarrassed:

Okay, it's been 6 years since I worked there, but I 'm going to assume that everyone is trying to play a Nintendo brand game.

Many, if not all, of Nintendo's N64 games required a "Key Code" which required two carts. Once the key code was activiated, only that specific cart would work on it.

The action went something like this (all purely example, not actual title support):

You wanted to play say....Wave Race.

1. You would stick on a non-Nintendo brand game, like Mortal Kombat.

2. You'd choose the key code for Wave Race.

3. The GameShark would then be turned off after giving a warning that you activated the key code.

4. Wave Race placed on the N64, turned on, and then you could choose the codes.

The problem is that you'd have to turn on the GS, turn off wave race's codes and key code with Wave Rave still on it, and then turn it off, to use any other non-Nintendo game.

It's possible the GameSharks are stuck in whatever Nintendo brand game was last used.
