Everyone usually asks about what to do with PS2 imports. Of course, the most reliable way is a Japanese PS2. However, it's a little less costly for a nice mod.

There's your link to a site that sells a good combo for $45. I ordered Guilty Gear X2 Slash from PlayAsia, and it worked great.
However, there are things I have to note.
When I first put the top on, it would basically have to be forced shut. After a few forced shuts, one of the tabs used for the flip top broke. This really doesn't get in the way.
Also, you probably won't be able to use those awesome little flip-ups for the memory card slot.
I also had a problem with the reset button getting stuck. I took a knife and shaved some plastic off the new top where the reset button came through.
It's a good way to play imports. I recommend it if you can operate a screwdriver. You'll also notice that the swap discs look trashed, like they've been scratched too much. I think they're supposed to be like that.
Also, when putting discs in the top, watch out for a little tab in the back. Resting the disc on it by accident doesn't end very well.
