first: sorry for my bad englisch :-P

Does somebody own this System ?
I have one and i find nothing in the www about it.

I search informations about this amstrad cable and the amstrad cart who allows to connect mega cd.

Has somebody connectet a 32x to it ? does it work ?

Is it easy to replace the System battery ?

There is very little about the system on the web, I remember once I found a German site with a lot of information on it!?

Wait, is there or isn't there Mega CD compatibility in the machine? That'd be rather useful, and that's something the (otherwise mostly superior in build but limited in function) Teradrive didn't have.

Not sure about the MaegaPC, have to open it up and find out. TeraDrvie has an edge connector, on top of unit.

Interfaces with a standard Mega CD, that is?

I only own a Sega Multimega, I no nothing about Mega CD connectors whatsoever, sorry.
About the Teradrive edge connector, when I questioned a person about this, I was told 'it's for the Mega CD connection'. Sounds cool enough to me :-)

Okay, I see what you're saying. My guess is that the Teradrive's supposed to slot onto a Mega CD, maybe.

They tend to get anywhere between £10-£100 on eBay, depending on specs (there's also a 486 version), degree of completeness, condition etc.

I've never heard about a MegaCD connecting cable myself.

Hia,
to Daniel, yes I am German, but I used to live in the UK for 17 years. I paid 80.00 GBP for my Teradrive, which I got from Sega London office (via a dealer) and 40.00 GBP for my Amstrad MegaPC (ebay).
Maybe you can let me know on how to replace the system batterie on the MegaPC, as mine needs replacing too. (Can't even find it)
Funnily enough, the older Teradrive system batterie still works fine. I wish I had some disks and docs to go with it though, especially the duo-mode set-up disks.

Thanks, I would love to replace the battery.
As for docus, I'm looking for original Teradrive documents. Very hard to find, even in Japanese.

Just spotted this MegaPC on eBay, which would appear to include the MegaCD connecting cable & cart:

Might be worth asking the seller for further info?

According to that auction, you need a special MD cart to get a MCD working, as well as the connector cable?

Kind of funny, you post something on an American forum board in German language about a Britsh PC, which includes a Japanese console.

This is great stuff man :)
I've got little to add, but thought I'd let you know you're not the only ones appreciating the work. A MegaPC is one of the many things on my want list, and I'm sure this iinfo will be invaluable once I get one...

Also, I'd be very interested in any details on the cart used for connecting the MegaCD - it should probably be listed in the "Demos, Samplers & Non-Games" section of the database here.

Indeed, why does the system need a cart to boot the CD? Normally, if there's nothing conected on pin B32 of ther cart slot (i.e. - no cart inserted), the MegaCD boots up. So what is different about the MD inside the MPC that makes it require this 'boot cart'? It'd be interesting to dump the ROM and see exactly what's on there.

Actually, you have a normal MCD1 or 2 set-up? Maybe try putting the boot cart into that and see what happens?

"Actually, you have a normal MCD1 or 2 set-up? Maybe try putting the boot cart into that and see what happens?"

-> i have just the Amstrad Mega PC;
and am searching for the Mega PC Cart and Connector Cable;

i d'ont now why the System needs a card to connect a Mega PC i think it has something to do with the Bios Version on the Bord;

my Action Replay 2 doesn't work on the Sega Mega PC. :hmm:

The Pc run's every of my Japanese Game's without any Problems... :P

I would say that the cart just contains some OS to make the two talk to each other??

Just a random thought - try covering over pin B32 (far right pin on front, looking at front of cart) with a bit of tape on any of your MD games, and see if it boots?

If you cover over B32, the game normally wouldn't boot on a standard MD. If the game still boots on the MPC, this'll explain why the MPC needs a boot cart.

100% working 100% complete

tom

Not bad, although almost $300.00 is a bit much, methinks. BTW, 100% complete would be ' original boxed'. But good luck anyway, mine went to Italy a few month back.
