How often are entries for newer systems updated? I've recently become very into collecting Nintendo DS games, demos, odds and ends, and I noticed that alot of the list is out of date or incomplete. Now I'm sure you wouldn't just trust some random person to help update the database manually, but how does the update system work here? Do you base it off of user submissions, or just get to things as you have a chance to? I'd like to help out in any way I can.

The individual section editors update offline files on a regular basis. There has been some issues effecting the online updates but hopefully they will resume shortly.

I can say the offline DS section is a couple months behind in new releases, but that'll be caught up soon.

Same for the PS2 and PSP sections. The last updated file I sent over was current through 12/15/05, but it hasn't been added in yet.

Soon.

That's a pretty good question and it looks like it's been answered. Not to hi-jack your thread though, but when do you decide to start posting the rarity of a game? Is it once you hear that they are no longer producing a specific game or once a consule go kaput? Would be interesting to know how you work with that mainly because I see some Gamecube games that I wonder how hard they are to find. A lot of Gamecube games I see used aren't available on shelves brand new at stores around here so if you know what's up with some of that, it'd be awesome to get some good responses. Thanks!

well, ther is no actual rule on this, but:

- i think a console has to be "dead" or at least to have had a successor for a while. If you can still find hundreds of new games in store for next to nothing it might be just not old enough yet ;)

- the extreme rarities (9/10) should not be used for systems/games younger than 10 years unless it's absolutely sure it's that rare (known print run...)
