Good Games and Good Arcade stick for Apple G4 Ibook??

I have a G4 Ibook and was wondering what are good games that would be good for it and a good arcade stick for it. Are there good fighting games for it, and action/adventures and shooters? Any recommendations would be great!

I think Marble Blast Gold is fun--I think it came free with my iBook G4, so its likely already on your system. The old Marathon games are also free, and have software that'll let you play them on OSX.

Most USB compatible arcade sticks should work. I don't know any specific ones. I DO have a small generic joypad I carry around in my laptop bag so I can play emulators. Usually NES ROMS are what I play. The Emus available for Mac aren't the best. A lot of them are slow and choppy, especially if you don't have enough RAM.

The iBook isn't terribly great as a gaming PC--if you got it for games, I think you may have had better value/luck with a good ol' Windows based laptop. But it they are a great overall notebook, and are perfect if you like to fiddle around with Unix at all. My iBook has slowly become my primary computer, even though I'm a Windows guy at heart.

As previously mentioned for shooters the Marathon trilogy is quite good (developed by Bungie). They also have the first Halo out for OS X and Return to Castle Wolfenstein should run on your machine, as should Medal of Honor Allied Assault and the first Call of Duty.

As for arcade sticks, the best one would probably be an X-Arcade since it uses USB and will work with a Mac. If you want figting games just get MAME for OS X and go nuts with arcade fighters.

Besides X Arcade, does anyone know other control pads or arcade sticks that has USB that are cheaper? And if you could, post links.

If you already have some Playstation controllers around you could probably use one of these Radio Shack doohickeys. It comes w/ a Windows driver disk but I've always found these things work fine without drivers (at least on PCs)

Most any USB device will work on the Mac. A lot of them work without the need to install drivers or a 3rd party app. There is also USB Overdrive - http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13443 - that will make most mice/trackballs/gamepads work that normally would not function under OS X. Very good app to have installed.

I have an old Gravis gamepad that only has OS 9/Windows drivers, but functions just great with USB Overdrive.

You will have much more luck with FPS ports on the Mac. But as previously stated, grab MAME.
