I recently bid on a very rare game, but was sniped at the last moment. Since the guy seemed to be selling off a lot of stuff, I contacted him via my main ebay account to ask if he possibly had another copy of the game.
He said that he may have another copy at his other apartment, and he would get back to me, and also asked if there was anything else I was looking for. I mentioned that I had always been keen to find a copy of Nightmare Circus for the Genesis.
A few days later he replies to say that he does have "another one copy" of the game, and also of Nightmare Circus, and he'll send me photos in a couple of days.
However, at the same time, a second chance offer comes through to the ebay account I bid with (not my main account).
It all feels a little suspicious. Plus the guy is registered in Russia and has quite low feedback. Nevertheless, it is good feedback and some people seem to have received some good stuff from him.
I am pretty unsure what to do here. For one thing, I would really love to get my hands on both these games. But I can't help feeling I'm being set up here. I've asked him to email me one photo of both the games together ...
He accepts Paypal, so the other option is just to grab the Second Chance Offer and reclaim the money through Paypal / eBay if it falls through. Trouble is, I am well aware that I'll only get any funds out of Paypal if they are still available in his account. Which, if he is a scammer, seems unlikely.
Dilemmas!
