Finally, after literally years of waiting, I got it. This game here is seriously my holy grail. I know the history behind it.

Here is the story about this game (I could be wrong, but I am 99.9% sure this is true): When Mortal Kombat 3 was scheduled for release, it was supposed to come out to SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, and Game Gear (Later a few other consoles followed). Well, release day hit, and it came out for the 1st three, but not the last one, Game Gear. This was before I was really into reading up-to-date news for game systems, and I relied on my GamePros (which said nothing about it being cancelled). Now I had seen pics for the game for Game Gear, so I know that it was in production. About 3 or 4 years back I was on eBay just looking around. I typed in Mortal Kombat and looked at the games (if I remember right, I was looking for MK4 at the time). I happened to notice Mortal Kombat 3 for SMS. Now, keep in mind that I am no idiot, and I know that the GG is basically a portable SMS (hence the converter coming out). When Mortal Kombat 3 was in production, they were not planning on bringing it out for SMS. Of course, many games that came out for SMS were just GG ports, but this game had nothing to be ported from (MK3, I mean). They had been working on the game, and then launch day, nothing. Then, a SMS version of the game comes out. Somehow, they got the code for the GG version, and put it out for SMS. This is not a regular SMS game, it is really an unreleased GG game.

This game pops up on eBay once every 6months-1year. As far as I know, this game is pretty rare(as are many of the TecToy releases), but somehow, it is one of the games the newbs haven't found out about yet. This is one of those games that is rare, but not expensive rare, its just that it never comes up ever.

I'm sorry if I seem like I am ranting, and if I am wrong, please don't spoil it for me. This is my holy grail of my collection. I have been searching for this game for probably about 2 years, and the only time I ever see it is on eBay, and I always get outbid on it.

NES with mario/duck hunt for 17 bucks shipped. Not great, kinda didnt want to win it. I will just resell it when I recieve it and prolly make a few bucks profit plus the mario duck hunt game, woo-woo! I bid $13 max witha half hour left, it was at $6. Then other people bid and It ended at $12. Wahtever, bad deal but I could resell it to make it like me getting 10 bucks or so.

Well my first reaction is that you paid too much money. But if you are new to collecting then maybe not. With shipping you paid $2.50 per game, which although it is a bit high if you are used to thrift store prices, in actuality it isn't bad at all, and damned near impossible to do on eBay if you buy games individually. So $200 to give your collection a good healthy start is not bad I think. Plus you got a copy of Mega Man 1 and thats worth a few bucks.

I won two auctions recently. I think i did ok on both.

...9 Sega genesis games. 8 with cases, 1 cart only. For 13 dollers + 5 dollers S&H

The other auction i won was for two NIB sega saturn 3D controllers. I won these for 12 dollers + 6 dollers S&H

BTW, does anybody here ever buy classic games from Half.com? I have made a few buys there recently. I got Sonic 2 for 75 cents, i was quite pleased about tthat...But i also noticed that some of their stuff seemed a tad overpriced. For example the cheapest copy of panzer dragoon saga is 400 dollers!

Oh well... I wasn't bragging about it but I already had the manual from a previous lot I won a while back, so for $4.01 I got the game and the original box.

I wasn't willing to spend more than $5 on that if it was complete, so I wasn't going to bid on one that was.

I don't think he was rolling his eyes at your grab, but just the fact that the seller charged so much for shipping.

That's the original Genesis box when Altered Beast was the pack-in game instead of Sonic. I have that same set boxed and complete, but I bought it for about $60 instead of $7.50. I don't understand how he does this time and time again. O_O

I've been waiting 4 years (just graduated college) to get an arcade cabinet and I came across this badboy 2 days before auction end. It just so happened that it was EXACTLY the same cabinet I wanted (a 25" neo). After talking the guy - the MVS board and cart are 100% working, the only thing wrong is a busted monitor which will be removed anyway.

I'm making this into a MAME machine, but I'm going to hold on to the MVS board probably till i can afford to buy a wells-gardener 25" monitor.
