With Super Gameboy 2 you can play 2-player GB games. It have a own port where you can connect the link cable :)

Is this the same or is there a US version with a different box? The cart looks the same.

Well the price part isn't the point of concern. I just want to know if it was issued to the US or just a Japanese thing. I only collect US only items.

Dont know, says its play on a US console. I would think that the japanese version wont fit into the US SNES slot. But better if the seller answers so you can be 100% sure :)

It was made and released only in Japan, but it is compatible on a US system.
