So yeah, almost every time I boot this game up, my saved data is gone. Vamoose! I bought the game new about 6 months ago, and I have no explanation as to why this is happening. Also, I am playing it on a new GBA SP2.

Anyone else have this issue with Mario Pinball Land??

Should I contact Nintendo?

Does it use a battery for saves? Could be that. Otherwise I don't know.

my damn super puzzle fighter 2 for gba does the same thing. except it takes a couple months and then resets. strange.

Isn't that because of shoddy programming? I've heard that the Capcom GBA ports often suffered from that...

dunno, but i wouldn't doubt it. haven't really done a lot of research into the matter. it's not that big of an issue really, i can plow through the game pretty quickly to unlock everything :)

sorry for the thread hijacking GAC :)

You mean you actually want to play it? (http://www.tylerwillis.com/2006/01/26/mario-pinball-land/)

In all seriousness though, I just checked my cart, fully expecting to tell you that you had a defective... but my cart's empty too. O_O

Not that I care, I'm never gonna play it again, but that is odd.

Is it really that bad? I've never played it.

How does it compare to pinball of the dead? (the only GBA pinball game I've got)

I didn't enjoy it (obviously), and I'm not alone. (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages4/920192.asp) but reviews are just opinions. You might like it.

Haven't played pinball of the dead, sorry.

Is there Any thing Else Unusual about the cart because I beleve that this thing usually Happens to pirate GBA carts.

are you 100% sure that it is 100% authentic ? because i have heard that bootleg carts loses data even loses the whole game or the game dies out after 5 mins of game play one of my friend bought metal slug advance off ebay for $12 with box it was bootleg he was able to play it for only five mins and it went KAPUT on him !!!

Try emailing Nintendo. I have a couple times, and they have been pretty good with getting back to me in decent time. If you are sure it isn't a bootleg, then it may be a known problem many others have reported.

Positive! This was bought from Toys 'R Us and had the factory seal. I have no problems during gameplay, just when I try to pick up where I left off, the data has vanished!

Same here. Unless Toys R Us was selling a huge lot of pirates, then I'm fairly certain it's legit. If it is a pirate, it's the best one I've ever seen.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was a bad batch of flash memory, most GBA cartridges retain their saves with rewritable flash chips instead of batteries. If the game won't hold your progress after you turn the gameboy off it's a good chance this is the case. I have encountered a few Genesis titles with this very issue, namely Sonic 3.
