Has anyone gotten Micro - Cube connectivity happening?

I picked up Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and I'd like to use my new micro with it.

Of course, I found this thread (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79849) at cheap ass gamer where someone makes his own cable from two different cables. But this thread is from December 2005. Has anything changed since then? Is there a commercial product thats been released yet?

I don't mind making my own, but I don't really want to order the GMB-GMB cable from nintendo.com and have to get a GBA-GC cable too.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible, it doesn't have a data port like the GBA SP.

The power port acts as a data port too (to save space). Nintendo makes a GBM to GBM cable, and also makes a GBM to GBA converter. But none of these allows for GC to GBM.

Here's an image from that CAG thread I posted showing GC-GBM connectivity:

The guy accomplishes this through a relatively simple mod. He hacks together a GC-GBA cable (http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&langId=-1&currency=USD&ignoreCrumbs=N&crumb1=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527C%2527%252C%2B%2527CategoryDisplay%2527 %252C%2527359%2527%252C%2B%2527N%2527%2529%253B%25 22%253EGame%2BBoy%253C%252FA%253E&crumb1Ignore=&crumb2=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527X%2527%252C%2B%2527ChooseView%2527%252C %2527%2527%252C%2B%2527%2527%2529%253B%2522%253EGa me%2BBoy%2BAdvance%253C%252FA%253E&crumb2Ignore=&crumb3=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527C%2527%252C%2B%2527CategoryDisplay%2527 %252C%252718487%2527%252C%2B%2527N%2527%2529%253B% 2522%253EParts%2B%2526%2BAccessories%253C%252FA%25 3E&crumb3Ignore=&translateFrom=%C8%C9%C7&translateTo=EEC&usrSearchText=&searchText=&selSrchType=&page=&view=&productId=10001&categoryId=18487&lastAction=ProductDisplay&orderTotal=null) and a GMB-GMB cable (http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&langId=-1&currency=USD&ignoreCrumbs=N&crumb1=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527C%2527%252C%2B%2527CategoryDisplay%2527 %252C%2527359%2527%252C%2B%2527N%2527%2529%253B%25 22%253EGame%2BBoy%253C%252FA%253E&crumb1Ignore=&crumb2=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527X%2527%252C%2B%2527ChooseView%2527%252C %2527%2527%252C%2B%2527%2527%2529%253B%2522%253EGa me%2BBoy%2BMicro%253C%252FA%253E&crumb2Ignore=&crumb3=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527C%2527%252C%2B%2527CategoryDisplay%2527 %252C%252759214%2527%252C%2B%2527N%2527%2529%253B% 2522%253EParts%2B%2526%2BAccessories%253C%252FA%25 3E&crumb3Ignore=&translateFrom=%C8%C9%C7&translateTo=EEC&usrSearchText=&searchText=&selSrchType=&page=&view=&productId=92216&categoryId=59214&lastAction=ProductDisplay&orderTotal=null). I'd be willing to do this, the only problem is that you can only get official GMB cables off of nintendo.com, which is a hassle and you have to pay for shipping. Plus, since you have to buy two cables seperately, it's more expensive than if there was a all-in-one solution.

So I was just wondering if anyone knew of a third party solution, so I could just run into the mall and walk out with one :D

The links you posted is a Game Boy micro to Game Boy micro cord, how the heck does a Game Boy micro end link into a GBA port on the GCN to GBA cable? Wouldn't the GBA end on that still be designed for the SP slot?

EDIT: Ok nevermind, I see how he's doing this. Check the thread he updated just today.

They don't just plug into one another - you need to solder the micro wires on the board in the GBA end of the GC-GBA cable Check the CAG thead (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79849).
