When it comes down to purchasing system, I personaly like to know that my system will have something of value via exclusives. For example, back when PS2 was still top dog, It had exclusives that STAYED exclusive like MGS2 or DMC. These games could only be played by the user that had the system. So if your friend had a gamecube, you had some bragging rights of somewhat.
But with 360, everything is either ported from PC, or multiplatform, or eventually be multiplatform. The games that are exclusive IMO are not valuable enough to warrant longevity of the system.

Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3, Amped 3, Ridge Racer 6, The Outfit, Dead or Alive 4 and Kameo aren't good enough exclusives? I'm pretty damn happy with that sort of lineup.

Ridge Racer 6 isn't an exclusive.

Only DOA4 is a decent exclusive, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets ported over soon, or the next installment is multiplatform. None of those compare to having an exclusive like MGS4 on your system.
Now Gears of War, and Too Human might be along those lines, but we will have to see.

You are, of course, assuming MGS4 will stay PS3 exclusive. I'm not saying it won't, but i'm also not saying a PC port isn't possible.
Oh and FYI MGS2 is on the PC.
And besides when it comes to exclusives you've gotta look at stuff like Too Human, Dead Rising (for now it's exclusive), Mass Effect, Blue Dragon and Lost Oddesy. The system is only a few months old so it's hard to criticize it for it's lack of exclusives.

It was released when Substence was released, hardly a time when the demand was gone. And besides it's not that good.

Which both were released WAY after the demand for it was there.
Probably what they will eventually will do with MGS 3.

Far too absolute.
Is GRAW available on a plethora of other platforms? Yes. Is it worth playing on them? Not when the X360 version is around. That goes well beyond graphics too.
As for the PC/360 games, you may as well consider them exclusive. PC/Console gamers tend to be fairly exclusive. Most console gamers can't afford a PC worth playing anything recent on. Games like Oblivion are available to the PC crowd, but the far, far larger audience is the 360 crowd.
Technically exclusive? No. Exclusive in the realm of console gaming? Yes.

Live Arcade. Nuff said.

well xbox live arcade is a good selling point of the system but will it cause it to save the value in the long run I doubt it
mainly because say in 10 years when you play the 360, the arcade probaly won't be around or it will be in a different form chances are the games on live arcade for the 360 that were purchased won't be enough to hold the value
Well for the OP I am not sure how the value of the 360 will hold up
it's really a different thing because yeah like comparing graw for the xbox 360 to the pc version you can't really it's two different things
even though it's the same game it's not in a sense
just like Oblivion for the 360 to the PC version
so will value of the 360 hold up? probaly as well as all systems hold up over time it will drop in value
should be interesting to see though

I don't see Full Auto included here, isn't that a 360 exclusive? I haven't seen any PC ports.

I think I was one of the few people that liked Full Auto. But I thought I heard that it would be coming out on the PS3, as well. I may be wrong, but I thought I heard this.
But the selling point for me was Live Arcade.
Geometry Wars is honest to god, electronic crack.
And Gears of War is gonna be this years Halo. Crackdown sounds quite interesting, N3 (Ninety-Nine Nights) is another one I'm looking forward to. And now that I think it's been announced for E3, I'm kinda looking forward to Forza Motorsports 2.
Poofta!

this sounds like a 'which system is best' thread. just get all the systems, seriously.
for now, the 360 is the only next gen system to begin with, so you dont even know which games will be ported or not, and if they will be any good. the ps3 is about a year away, you can wait of course, but why?
get the 360 if you like any of hte games, if something along the road changes, well, get another system. =]

I could name a lot of exclusives. But let me just say this.
Forza 2.
XBLA (which will be playable in X years, even if there is now XBL service, these are mainly single player games lets not forget)
I would also like to point this out: You will not see a lot of exclusives between the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. Sure the Wii will have more than the other two, for obvious reasons. Between the Xbox 360 and PS3, you are only going to have specific exclusive titles for the life of the console. It is just the way the industry is going, multiplatform releases is the way these developers can recoup the costs. So that is what we get. If we are lucky, part of a game is different on one console to another (as we see in this generation).
Ok I guess I wll go into exclusives. How about the bleeping Halo franchise? Hello! McFly! Is the Halo franchise not as important to Microsoft as MGS is to Sony?
PC ports of games to 360 and not PS3 = exclusive.
Condemned (even though it his 360 first)
Halo 3/Whatever
Forza Motorsport 2
Perfect Dark Zero
PGR3
Amped 3
Ridge Racer 6
Dead or Alive 4
Kameo
Gears of War
Too Human
Dead Rising
Mass Effect
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
GRAW (this game was different on every single platform. PC/360 was the same, but PC came out after 360 version)
Oblivion
Fable 2
Full Auto
Over G Fighters (I think)
N3: Ninety-Nine Nights
Prey
Saint's Row
Crackdown
Viva Piņata
I can't think of any more off the top of my head. Sure, some of those will likely be ported to the PS3 (after that system ships, so delayed exclusive) but MUCH of that list will remain exclusive.
First and second party will (obviously) be exclusive to the Xbox 360, and a number of the third party titles will be exclusive for the duration of the console as well.
But you are right, there isn't enough exclusive titles to differentiate it from the PS3. Please don't buy the Xbox 360. I fear you will be greatly disapointed by all the bland "me to" ports from the PS3 and only come here to bitch about how the system has nothing that sticks out in the crowd of next-gen consoles/PC.
Oh, I almost forgot. Xbox Live. How about Xbox Live? Does that present anything of value? I already mentioned Live Arcade, which I cannot imagine Sony coming close to mimicing in their first unified online system. Xbox Live Marketplace?
Now I am not counting Sony out here, I will give them a chance. But I really doubt that Sony's PS3 "Xbox Live Killer" PlayStation Network (or whatever its called, its late) is going to stack up to Xbox Live on the 360. But it could happen, the PS3 could blow the Xbox 360 out of the water. I mean, Apple computers are running on Intel chips these days after all.

I think the issue should be looked at like this. Neither Sony, Microsoft nor Nintendo are competeting against the PC world. Computer games and Video games are seperate beasts and seperate markets.
If something is only on the PC and one console then it should be considered exclusive to that console because it's not available on any competitors systems.
Let's go for some exclusive QUALITY then. Grab Tomb Raider on all existing platforms. Take a look at the game on a 360....and throw the other versions into the round file.
Full Auto? One of the best games to arrive this year.....and there's no news of a port to the other systems that I've heard of.
Forza kicks the shit out of Gran Turismo (and this is coming from a long time Turismo fan)......and Forza 2 is on it's way. Halo 3 probably won't be an exclusive....but it might be on a 360 before it heads to a PC. There's an assload of exclusive RPGs that are coming, as well as shooters that will be here early enough that it won't make sense to port them to other platforms just for the sake of porting them.
I personally couldn't care less about exclusives. Just give me stuff to play. Any game any platform any time, I'm happy.

Finally! Someone besides me appreciated Full Auto! But unfortunately, rumor has it, the PS3 is getting Full Auto 2 as an exclusive.
Damn you, Sega!

Poo...
 @ Sega!!! Sega.... You're making the same mistakes you were making as a hardware company, as a software company now - Careless ones.
Why the hell would you make a sequel for a totally different system since you already have a semi-built fanbase on another? The game wasn't a huge smash, but it should at least get another chance with the 'improvements' you usually find in a sequel..
I don't understand Sega's logic at all.

True
and that I would agree especially considering how the Xbox port turned out.
Although I do think that IF Konami decided to port MGS4 over to the Xbox360 it would most likely be a SOLID port :D and I do think that the 360 would be fully capable of running Metal Gear Solid 4 at least to the point that there would be very little differences -graphics etc overall.
Of course there is the great possibility of Kojima implementing the Motion detection of the PS3s new controller that might cause some issues with a 360 port.
