I found one of these today at Dave & Buster's. Naturally, as a collector of anything Video, I took it.

Does anyone else have one of these? I'll scan it later, if no one has any idea what I'm talking about. It looks like it wasn't supposed to be used outside Japan (it's got the japanese namco web address on the back)

What the hell are they for, aside from keeping your character data, and taking up wallet space? Do they give you access to special items, stages, or characters?

Just curious... I've never heard of these before, until today.

They're very common. I have about 30 of them or so. They're IC Data cards much like the ones used in Japan for Virtua Fighter, Quest of D, Tekken 5(obviously).

They were released here and are available for dedicated Tekken 5 cabinets with arcade card readers.

They're $5. The only way you can play with a customized character is with one of these. They also keep track of your win/loss ratio and ranking(you can promote your rank by beating other players).

Thanks for the info.

I just picked the thing up. It was laying on a table, next to the machine. No one was even close by. Finders keepers!

I don't even know who's on it or if it's been registered. Guess I'll check out the site.

It's possible the card might be dead. Once a card uses up it's 500 plays it's as good garbage.
