Was just wondering, could anyone tell me if any of my games in my collection are rare?

It'll allow me to figure out what I should cherish and take the most care of.

To see my collection, click on the link in my signature.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks. :)

Hmm I'm not much of a mass multi-platform collector so I can't help on all of them but, if these are PAL format (you're in Australia, So I'm guessing they are) then the ones that stick out

N64:

Banjo Tootie: isn't exactly rare, but it is one of those games that hold value because they are desirable.

Pokemon Stadium 2: appears to be one of the more moderately difficult titles to find and it's also seems to be fairly desirable, so if it's complete it's possibly the most valuable one in your N64 collection.

Yoshi's Story: Agin this one seems to be more desirable than rare but as such it'll probably hold a fair price (in respect to N64 collecting, that is)

SNES:

They're all pretty common except for:

Yoshi's Island: This one usually turns a fair price complete. It' not exactly rare, but then again it's not common either. If it's complete it's a nice one to have, but even if it's only loose it's still worth more than most common - scarce SNES games are boxed.

Top Gear 3000: (if I'm thinking of the right Top Gear game here :/ ) Is actually non too easy to get hold of, especially complete. It's not one of those games that's likely to turn a high price at the moment (such as more desirable games like Yoshi's island) but it is moderately hard to find, moreso if it's complete.

The games you have for all your more modern systems (GC, GBA, GBC, DC, PS1, PS2 and Saturn) are all games that I wouldn't expect to become particularily rare, they're all fairly common and there's pleanty of copies around.

mh i dont agree with u nvrmore, imho yoshis island isn't worth more than the average snes game, you can find a lot of them on ebay all the time and they are not expensive, you can get this anywhere boxed for under 10€

I agree with you that it's not a rare game and ebay usually isn't short of at least one copy. But it's one of those games that falls under the "desirable" label. meaning that for all it's not too hard to get your hands on, people are willing to pay over the top prices for it.

e.g.

At the moment these prices are somewhat lower than usual (probably due to the game's GBA release). A few months ago I wasn't seeing a complete copy go for less than Ģ25.

However, the problem is that PAL format games can vary greatly in price and rarity from region to region (e.g. the Sailor moon title you pointed out in another thread) so perhaps you may have a different perspective being that you likely cover the German / non-english regions, in which case (sorry, I haven't checked the German ebay recently) the German format could be considerably less pricey.

I'd say that that's a nice start of a collection, but none of those games is rare at all.

yeah nvrmore, it's a lot cheaper on german ebay :)

of course its desirable, as is each mario/yoshi game ;)

it's funny to see how different prices/raritys are in the different european countries, i mean it's so easy (and not expensive) to get games from other european countries but noone seems to do that, for example, you can't get mortal kombat or killer instinct on german ebay because it's not allowed to sell these games in germany to teenagers but it's so easy to get it from dutch or uk ebay, with dutch being the better choice because it's damn cheap :) (btw i can only tell you: check dutch ebay often, nearly no one bids there, i've seen tri-star adapters go away for 5€ there)

Thanks for your input.

My copies of Banjo-Tooie, Pokemon Stadium 2 and Yoshi's Story don't have manuals, aren't boxed and are all NTSC (but the rest of my N64 games, except for Majora's Mask, are all PAL).

Yes, I would strongly agree that Yoshi's Island (SNES) is not rare. I see this game at second-hand stores frequently. And also this is missing its box and manual as well.

Top Gear 3000 was damn hard to find. I eventually found it privately in the newspaper classifieds. I paid $20AUS for it, and it didn't even have a box or manual! But it really wanted it, and I figured I'd be stupid to pass it up.

I think my problem is that I only buy games I like, rather than just buy everything I see. And this is becoming even more of a problem now as I'm not working anymore, resulting $0 cashflow.
