its been sitting at its current price since 2003...

They still have at least one Cube trick up their sleeve, a little trick called ZELDA. I'd keep that puppy close to $99.99 as possible just for Zelda, and then drop it once that has been released. I'd drop the system price right around Christmas time if I was Nintendo, to sell even MORE cubes for the holiday season.

Yeah it's late in the game, but Zelda is a system seller. I can see people who sold cubes awhile back, rebuying them just for Zelda, especially if they cannot afford a Wii.

If they drop it, A+ to Nintendo, but they are still selling at $99.99

Same as with Majora's Mask. It wasn't as late in the game with MM, but its the same idea.

Nintendo should sell GC / Zelda combo packs with a specially designed Zelda themed cube. Those would get people buying more GCs, even if they had one already :)

I agree, you package Zelda with anything...like a cereal mail in offer...and you got yourself a winner. :)

My honest opinion, they should make a Mario Collection disc for GameCube. Have Mario-All Stars + Mario World + Yoshi's Island + Super Mario 64 on one little disc. Throw out a red GameCube with the M symbol on it. Watch it fly like a red cap...

The most intresting part of that article for me was that the pre order for Guitar Hero 2 is $50. Lame.

They will probably drop the price sometime before Christmas so as not to interfere with Wii. If they drop it right at Christmas it's like asking the general public to buy IT instead of Wii.

Just my 2 cents.

My marketing sense tells me they are already the cheapest console on the market, even after the Xbox and PS2 drops.

My marketing sense tells me, if price is your thing, it's about being cheaper than the competition. Generally speaking, you only need to be a bit cheaper to be *cheaper*. Being waaaay cheaper doesn't sell any more units than being cheaper, but you do stand to make less money.

It's already cheap as hell. my 0.02.
