Maximum Carnage, for the SNES, was released as a red cart, and I knew of no other coloring to it, until I recently saw a gray one. I was wondering what differences, if any (besides the color) there were, and if one were rarer then the other.
Thanks in advance.

I think the red one would be the more common, Like the mutant apocalypse cart, I have only seen the red one.

Hmmm....according to this article on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-Man_%26_Venom:_Maximum_Carnage), only the red cart was released because the red one didn't sell well...however, I have seen the gray cart...maybe it'd be worth a bit as a collector's item...

I know I've seen a gray one at some point in my game hunting.

A guy on here says he has a grey cart, and I know I've seen one, and thought it was odd because of the color scheme.

I know I've seen a gray one at some point in my game hunting.
I've seen only two, and I assume the people didn't realize that it was suppossed to be red. It was a little bit high, but now I might pick it up.

Maybe this can help: the genesis/megadrive versions were released only in red, but the australian pal cartidge is black !

no help at all really, cause the shape of the snes cart was North American only, no other region had our shape. so if he claims he saw a grey us cart, it can only be N.A.

Maybe a mexican release?
Could be...I was wondering if they could possibly be forgeries though...

Does nobody remember the special collectors edition it came in a big box with a spidey comic and one or two pin badges, as well as a unit number (0012/1000) type of thing and i'm sure that was the red cart.

The last few i saw on ebay got around $80 the last sealed one got $156.

Can anyone else remember what else was in this special edtion, also the box it came in had a spidey logo on the box, i think the box was either black or red?

*EDIT

2 pics i found on ebay : Red

I rented Maximum Carnage at two different locations, and they were red carts. Also, there's no way the two stores would BUY a limited edition of a game. They were too cheap to do so.

Also look out for the tape of Green Jelly performing a couple of songs form the games. "Carnage Rules" and "Rock n' Roll Pumpkin"

Quite cool and lame at the same time, as Is pointed out by these lyrics

"Listen all you fooools!
Don't you know that Carnage rules?
Told you once, don't make me tell you twice!
Heed my warning or pay my price!!!"

"Rock n' Roll Pumpkin
(say it again)
Rock n' Roll Pumpkin
(say it again)

ROCKNROOOOOEEWWWWWWLLLLLL!!!"

LOL I Should add a bunch of ones and exclamation points!

Green Jelly!!111!!!!111!!!111!11! LOL

Hate to be picky, but Carnage Rules and Rock n' Roll Pumpkhin were on different albums.

Rock n' Roll Pumpkhin was on their debut, Cereal Killer. Carnage Rules was on the follow-up, 333. Good stuff. :)

And what was that about Mutant Apocalypse being released in a different color cart? I've only ever seen the gray.

LOL Nice of you to be picky, but I'm talking about the promo tape for Maximum Carnage. each side had one song.

Good to look for if you like collecting video game music.

I've seen the grey SNES cart before, but very seldomly. I think on Genesis, it's the opposite -- the black cart seems to be significantly more common, in my experience.

I've seen a black Genesis cart version a few times, but the original red release is the one I've seen the most.
