Picked this up earlier in the week and just started playing it yesterday. Its a fun game. The play is pretty much just like the first one with a few changes with the interface. The main "new" thing with this game is the switch option. You control 2 main characters and apperantly can swap items and inventory with them. Note these two characters are in two different worlds. I just got the swap option this morning.

Anyways is good wholesome fun. If you enjoyed the first Altlier Iris this will be just as good though it doesn't seem vastly improved. But its a good solid game overall.

Never played the first game - no worry, the 2 games are not connected stroy wise.

I'm playing this game right now too. I played the first one with one hand while I held Clara- early on she wanted to be held to sleep. I found it very charming, despite the glitch that ate the end cutscene ><
Maybe I'm just more awake, but this one isn't as good. The switching back and forth makes things easier but disjoints the storyline for me. Also, at least so far (I think I'm on chapter 12 or 16) it's really EASY. As much as I love video games, I know that I'm not that good at them- and yet even I haven't died once in this game.
All said though, I'm still having fun! I ordered the guide (only $11 on Amazon, although not here yet) to pack away, I'm betting it may be a future rarity.

sound interesting. I enjoyed the first game but I"ve been hesitant to buy the second because I haven't read any convincing reviews. but this thread peaked my interest again. maybe it's time to use that Gamestop gift card.

I bought this game and haven't played it yet (I really liked the first Atelier Iris, though), and also ordered the guide for $11 off of Amazon, which came in the mail today. I agree that the guide seems likely to become a future rarity--I haven't seen it anywhere but Amazon. Not any GameStops or EBs, not Borders, not Best Buy (they didn't even get the game, as far as I can tell), nowhere.

Glad I peeked my head in this thread. I'm long overdue for a strat guide order from Amazon and I will definitely be adding this guide to it. I also haven't seen it anywhere else, didn't even know it existed until I saw this thread.
