Maybe I'm a bit jadded but not too many titles from the current gen make it into my list of all-time favorite games. That being said, a few games have really blown me away.

Super Smash Bros. Melee: This Godzilla of a sequel is still my favorite GC title. It's like a tribute to one of the greatest companies in gaming. Tons of modes, tons of tropies to collect and an all-star cast of Nintendo characters. Last but not least, the Nintendo stars kick the crap outta each other for no story-driven reason. You gotta love it.

F-Zero GX: Slick GC visuals, a sweet pulse-pounding techno/rock soundtrack and some of the fastest furturisctic racing in the universe. Yes, it's tough but not impossible.

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution: I missed out on the Virtua Fighter 2 craze in the arcades and on the Saturn. From what I've heard, VF4 was like the second coming of that great game. VF4 Evo was even better. It has amazingly deep gameplay and the Quest mode brings the arcade experience to your living room. It isn't newbie friendly but my fighting game improved dramactially when I started playing this game. And I heart Pai.

Psychonuats and Metroid Prime were the only two that made my top 25 list for the DP Top 100. But Guitar Hero, Shadow of the Colossus and Resident Evil 4 came close as well.

I believe the only games in the past 3-5 years that have made my top 25 are Space Rangers 2, Freedom Force, and Zelda: Minish Cap. Beyond Good & Evil is up there, though, as is Metroid Prime.

I just started playing Killer 7 - very intriguing...but I'm not sure it makes the list for me.

"Outrun 2", "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" & "Burnout 3" are some of the newest all-time favorites.

I can't get enough of that "Road Rage" mode...its a shame they changed it in "Revenge". :(

Well....as a 360 owner, Current Gen, for me, is anything that is Xbox 360, Revolution and PS3. The other consoles aren't quite the same. In that light, Full Auto is probably THE most impressive thus far and a definite favorite of all of the new stuff. DON'T judge it by that unfinished OXM demo. I can't believe the sheer number of particles being thrown around, not just by you but by the AI as well, at the same time. It truly is spectacular. The last generation of consoles couldn't display this much carnage and blaze along at 60 frames per. This game is fuckin' hectic. Considering what the machine has to handle, it's WAY faster than Burnout. In Burnout, you just have to worry about the cars and the race. Throw weapons into the mix and it gets insane when you're trying to use nitrous, stay on track, watch your mirror for enemy rockets AND take out a rival all at the same time. Burnout is Full Auto for beginners:evil:

Last Gen stuff....Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox and Cube. FFX and FFX2 will always be among my most favorite games of all time. Turismo 3 was amazing and received the usual zillion hours of gameplay. Shenmue left me speechless. Phantasy Star Online consumed 6 years of my life and still gets played offline. The original Halo was damned good and gets played on my 360. Most impressive game of that generation? The original Jak N' Daxter. That game was as perfect as a video game can get IMO. Awesome visuals, perfect control and button layout, and an end boss that was doable with average skill.

First one that comes to mind is Rez. I will always love it.

Second is Outrun 2. I have always been a huge Ridge Racer fan, and the PSP version is incredible, but Outrun 2 on the XBox is an absolutely perfect pure arcade racing experience. Waiting for my XBox copy of Coast to Coast...

Lumines rounds this out for me. It is the best puzzle game since Tetris.

It amazes me how many forum members shrug off current generation stuff as though there's nothing of lasting quality around. I don't know if their blinders are just stuck, if it's a bias, or if they just haven't tried any of these games.

Here's just some of my favorites from this generation that have shaped my collective experience in gaming. Any of these could have a justifiable place on a top 100 games of all time list.

:eek 2: *In Darth Vader voice * NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

You remember being able to play against the computer in this mode? Gone.

Its gone multiplayer only.

Unless i am missing other options in the menus somewhere, it seems all one can do is the "world tour" type thing all by themself.

With these wonderful new tracks and cars why would they take out the single player "Road Rage" event? WHY?

At least i'll always have "Takedown" and my record of 135 takedowns during a single race. :D

I could pull out a decent sized list, but I'm sticking with the one game that refuses to leave the confines of my PS2.

God of War.

I haven't repeatedly played through a game this much since Strider. I love it.

Love it love it love it.

Please don't mess up the sequel.

Disgaea, Guitar Hero, and the two PS2 Katamari Damacy games would make my list. There are others that would be close, but I think those four are the only ones that would actually pull it off.

THPS3(PS2)

This was(IMO), the peak of an awesome series(which has been going downhill ever since). I love everything about the 3rd entry in the series! Music, levels, ect. It was PERFECT!

GTA3(PS2)

I can't describe the feeling of when I first played this game... It really was amazing. I ended up playing this game call summer long when I was 14. There was always something to do, another mission, another package, a new cheat to try, a new secret to look for, you get the idea. I LOVE THIS GAME! 8-)

Shenmue(DC)

For those of you that played it and enjoyed it, I think you guys can relate.

Phantasy Star Online(DC)

I spent so many hours on this game over the years! :D It would probably be in my top ten for nostalgia alone. I know many online games have bested it easily, but this is still probably my favorite. I know not everybody was into this title, but for those of you that missed PSO in it's "prime" I really feel you missed out on something incredible.

GTA:VC/GTA:SA(PS2/Xbox versions)

What can I say? I love these games, each title in the series has managed to suck me in time and time again. While the "impact" was gone, that I got from GTA3, these games are still legends in my mind.

Super Smash Brothers:Melee(GC)

It took everything of the original, and turned it up to 11!

I think thats about all, I'm sure I'm forgetting a few though. :p

Very close runnerup's: Forza MotorSport(Xbox), Splinter Cell Trilogy(Xbox), Halo(Xbox), MGS2(PS2), Super Monkey Ball(GC), JGR(DC), Toy Commander(DC)
