We got roomates last week and I got Dark Cloud 2. They've been playing SSX Tricky all the time though so I never get to play! The solution can only be to buy another PS2.
I found this glorious thing, but does it only play Japanese games?? Probably :( It is so pretty and PINK!

Probably. Your best bet would to be to just find a place that sells the outer PS2 Casing and have someone that's good with electronics do it (Or just pay to have it done) It'll play U.S. games that way and probly be a **LOT** Cheaper. (And maybe better looking if you find a really cool case!)

I'm surprised there's no Hello Kitty stickers on that pink PS2...

you could also modify the console so that it doesn't care what country the game came from.

Is there a web site selling different PS2 shells? I wouldn't mind a smoky clear case.

hey, choco you might want to check out http://www.colorconsoles.com/ they do console coloring.

It's $53 for PS2 cases, so even if you buy a second US PS2, it's stil cheaper than Gamechoice HK.

It's cute, that's about the color I'm going to redo a spare DC I have this summer.

Achika, do you know of a place that sells the plasic shells for a ps2? That place just spray paints the consoles, they can't make a case transparent.

Not for US consoles. Lan-kwei has green, purple, blue ones for Japanese PS2s...not sure what the difference would be....

no difference as far as I know for just the case, Lan kwei has them (as you said) and I believe most other import stores have them as well.

I'd double check on the different cases, since sony changes it's internal hardware more often than butta gives hot karls, and that might include messing with the screw layout.

why does sony have to make pink ps2's when they could make a different, cooler, colars like Metalic Gold & silver or Glow in the dark green.

"Why don't we have girlfriends/wives that enjoy video games like us? Why Why Why?"

"PINK! What kind of girly $#%$ is that?! There is no place in our world for a FEMININE console of any type! Even a few thousand in the million ever made is WAY too much! They should make a manly console with big bursting musle controllers and naked girl trucker flaps that comes with some bonus steroids and an official Sony weight bench! Ruf Ruf Ruf!"

Nintendo had the right idea in mind when they released the Gameboy Advance in a variety of colors (jus pisses me off they WAITED before releaseing the silver one... argh, guess old clear blue will have to do!)

Think about, just about EVERYTHING we buy comes in a variety of colors.
And that's a good thing! It's nice to be able to pick the color you want for something.
About the onlky thing I can think of that's very hard to find choice of colors for are TVs and VCRs... and I mean VCRs, cause even DVD players are getting kinda nifty with color schemes. VCRs are on the way out, so no point in dressing them up NOW... and as for TVs... well... eggshell and black are your options and now silver seems to be making a show... with Eggshell being good for a recreational use TV (IE kitchen TV, kids room. portable TV that gets moved from room to room often) and Black being the standard. Which I like cause it gives a good contrast around the bright image... I'm not too crazy about how the new LCD and HDTVs are in silver, but meh, I'm sure it'll grow on me.

I kind of like the silver myself. The only concern I have about it is that I don't want my silver color devices to wind up looking like the devices from the early 80's (like stereo receievers, walkmans, record players) whose manufacturers had a short rush on making everything silver. That lasted for all of 3-5 years, then everything went back to being black, making it real easy to tell when you bought your devices.

Hey! All my stereo gear (except the DVD/SACD player) is sliver. You gotta problem with that?

All silver stereo = bitchin!

Call me weird, but I prefer women who don't gush about how they want the cooshy schmooshy supercute pink things with the huggles and the bishies and the winky-dinky Hamtaro stickers and the perfume-scented fuscia Rez vibrator and the imported Magical Princess Natural Lychee dolls and the KYOOOOOOTE frilly tutu for the extra special sugar-coated snookie-wookie plushie-wushie pooty pie!

That breed of grotesque sweetness is cute only when practiced by girls under eight years old. For that matter, I view pink as "feminine" in the same anachronistic way that petticoats and home economics courses are feminine.

Then again, pink systems are often cheaper on the second-hand market than their conventionally hued counterparts, since they're far less popular. I guess there's an upside to kitsch-colored consoles.

I like my girls cute. All my girlfriends have been into cute things like hello kitty and care bears, and they go nuts when they see kittens and miniature anything. counterpoint.

Hey now, don't you think you're being a little hypocritical telling the girls to grow up when you still watch cartoons and play video games? ;) I think you'll find more of a video game appreciation ratio in the Kawaii gals then the more serious types.

And Flukey you are supercute too! *smooch*

My wife is definitely one of those ladies who goes nuts over"cute stuff", so I can relate to this. I never thought it was an 8-year old trait, more just the trait of someone young at heart. It's one of the things I truly love about her.

It isn't so much the act of collecting cute things that annoys me as it is the habit of raving about it with saccharine abandon. I'm not going to berate anyone who buys pink Pokemon and watches fangirl anime, but I've seen some girls (nay, women, as they're too old to be called "girls") shriek like Beatlemaniacs in 1964 upon seeing a new plush creature or one of the male leads from Weiss Kreuz.

And though I play video games and watch cartoons, I don't make a nauseating spectacle of myself over either hobby. Enjoying something "kawaii" is fine, but being cutesy-stupid about it is another matter entirely.

I bet 50 cents (who decided we don't need a cent symbol on keyboards?) that you shriek with delight when you boot up Twinbee.
