Is a Gameboy Light rare? valuable?

I'm wondering because I always thought it was relatively rare. But I saw one on eBay for $20.

Hoping for some input :)

I'm pretty sure you are talking about two different things. A Gameboy Light is rather rare. And it sticks out in my mind as being worth $60+. Now a light for a gameboy is worthless but not a Gameboy Light System!

Yeah I'm talking about the "Gameboy Light", a backlit version of the Gameboy Pocket

I think it was Japan only.

Here is a blurb about it - link (http://www.digitalarcade.co.uk/gameboylight.htm)

I think that the one on eBay is only $20 because the start button doesn't work. That is going to turn off most potential buyers.

Those don't around very often in the states so I'd say it would pull decent $$$ on epay IF it's marketed right. I'd bet it's really easy to skip one over thinking it's one of those shitty snake lights.

I SO wanted one of these until I got an N-gage. My old GB has been sitting in the closet ever since. Nothing like a fricking backlight, man. I can't believe we gamers went SO LONG with only a dark-ass gameboy for so many years. Dark ages, I tell you (literally.)
