Does anyone have this game? Is this worth importing if you can't read/understand Japanese? It sounded like a neat concept from what I read in mags but is it really fun to play or more of a bore?

I don't have this game, but I looked at it long and hard back when it came out. The guy who used to run videogamedepot told me there was a LOT of japanese in it and he was in the process of making a guide. Then the whole cart-mart buy out happened and the GameGo! fiasco so I don't know if he ever finished it.
I agree tho, neat concept. Maybe someone who actually owns it will tell you otherwise, but from asking someone who was selling it, seems like you're gonna struggle.

GameGo! What a huge BOMB that was. I knew that was going to happen. Import fiends don't realize that 99.99% of the population don't share their enthusiasm for imports/Japanese culture. I wonder how many issues they have left over of issue #1. Anyone know what ever became of that new Neo Geo home system that was advertised in that issue? It had slots to play home system and arcade carts and the alternate BIOS.

I take it there was only ever one issue of GameGO! then?

Yeah, one issue. The second issue was finished but never made it to press, but they did release it as PDF files.
@Zaxxon, you may not share the enthusasm but personally I'm glad that someone at least tried to do something a little different. I don't get why so many people are so happy to dance on their grave.

I wasn't happy about it. I'm definately not one of those "only JPN games are good, US games suck" import snobs. When GameGo! crashed and burned it took VideogameDepot.com down with it and I used to do a fair amount of shopping there. Cart-Mart's site is crap in comparison IMO.

a.) Videogamedepot still exists. What do you mean GameGo "brought it down"?
b.) Where can I get the PDF files of the second issue? I'd like to read it sometime.

Cart-Mart just bought the rights to their domain name and their inventory like 2 years ago. It's not the same people running it or the same website.

A) actually the Cart-Mart thing was in the works prior to the magazine. It's videogamedeopt in name only now. A large part of that business was the guy running it who was not ashamed to let his personal tastes dictate the direction his business went (probably the reason he had to get out tho.) The on site reviews for games were classic and I've never seen anyone running a store try to talk someone out of buying crap games, even if he was the one selling them. One of, if not the, only big on-line import shops with any personality, fantastic taste and excellent price and service.
B) Here ya go: http://fpweb1.fileplanet.com/files/110000/110467.shtml
I hate file planet, but that's who's hosting them now.

There are two reviews on Gamefaqs, and also a mini-faq. One reviewer says that it is pretty difficult if you don't own Japanese, but both reviews gave it a 9/10...
