Check out this screenshot of Too Human for the 360. This is going to take a little while to load, but please, let it load, and then witness the POWER :evil:

Can this be real actual gameplay? If it is, this has just passed up Gears of War for most anticipated game period.

Holy crap! That's amazing! :eek: At first I think that there is no way that's realtime graphics. It's just too good looking. However, it's no better than the other screens I've seen posted, and it certainly doesn't look like its FMV.

My answer: A definite maybe, but I hope yes :D

I looked at the screenshot, and just said "meh, another one of THOSE games"

It looks great, but I have no interest in it...

When did I turn into a relic? I just want my games to look like games.

Of course it's not gameplay. Well, not running on a 360 at least. Unless the 360 magically now supports a 1280 resolution, which I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Cause I would have got a memo. And I haven't got a memo. And I always get memos about stuff like this.

CHEAT SHEET:

Is it a

1) still from a motion picture
2) advertisement render
3) game screenshot

Choose the best answer!

But anyway - looking forward for a game on basis of graphics alone? Weak.

From Xbox.com:

If you're using the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable to connect your Xbox 360 console to a computer monitor or TV monitor with a VGA connection, you'll have the opportunity to select from a variety of resolutions. They are:

* 640 x 480
* 848 x 480
* 1024 x 768
* 1280 x 720 (equivalent to 720p)
* 1280 x 768
* 1280 x 1024
* 1360 x 768
The "screenshot" linked to is 1008 by 567, so it could potentially be any of the higher resolutions (but I'm ignoring possible artifacts from scaling, which I'm not too clear on).

Meh......it don't matter to me. Things are happening.

It won't be long before we start seeing games that use more of the true power of the 360. The thing is a monster that's just waiting for a developer to harness all of it's potential. Many people are looking at the 360 at this moment and thinking "it's just a white Xbox"....."what's so next gen about the 360?"......."my regular Xbox could run that".

White Xbox, my ass. Wait and see.

Yeah, I bet you will be looking at games like that. Games that look like Doom 3 and Quake 4, with that same kind of... weird engine. I mean, the look is impressive, but something just dosn't look right, same with D3 and Q4. They look like plastic dolls or something, I just cant put my finger on it.

DOOM III uses a mostly unified lighting and shadowing scheme (the lighting schemes, which allowed small changes per pixel due to lighting, when combined with extra detail maps, conspired to make things look "sweaty" or "plastic"), and stencil shadows, which give it a pretty unique look compared to other games. Prey will look recognizably like DOOM III, though I don't think human character models will have that "plastic" look to them (though I know that there will be some of that shine to at least a few monsters). Art direction is the key here: developers should show restraint before mashing an extra detail map on top of it.

Well, when the graphics look almost as good as Attack of the Clones or Revenge of the Sith, then yes, I'm looking forward to it, on the basis of graphics alone. There is alot of things going on in that screenshot, and I personally find it hard to believe that the game is really going to look like that, but if it does, then hell yes I'm excited as H.E. double hockey sticks.

Sure graphics are just screen deep, but it's like people think that you can't have your cake and eat it too. It's like if a game has killer graphics, then it must have shallow and lackluster gameplay. Personally, I've played tons and tons of games over the years that had absolutely awesome graphics, along with very solid gameplay. They aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm pretty sure those are all in game. EGM just had a huge article about it, and it had in game screenshots that looked just like that. Also, I do believe this uses the same engine as Gears Of War.

The image is not 1008x567, it's 2276x1280. I don't know what kind of nazi of a browser is forcing you to view a smaller image within a webpage (IE doesn't even do that), but that's the source image.

As for it being gameplay, not on a 360. It's likely a frame grab from a dev kit seeing as theres definitely not any AA applied on that jaggie ridden picture as well.

I'm still standing by my statement. A lot of those screens are the exact same ones used in the article. And they had a disclaimer at the beginning saying that all of the screens are actual real time footage.

A little factoid for you guys too... Silicon Knights have been working on this for a little over 10 years now. It started on the PS1 and then went to the Gamecube. Now you know and knowing's half the battle!

GI JOOOOOOOOOOE!

I'm not saying the 360 can't do that, and really it isn't all that impressive. I'm simply saying that screenshot didn't come from a 360.

i dont see what the big deal is....i mean it looks about the same as ut 2007 graphics and detail wise.

there comes a point where you put so much detail into something like that and it starts to look dirty, and we've past that point

The control and the camera angles will set this one apart. The left trigger fires the left-hand gun, and the right trigger fires the right-hand gun.

"You generally have autoaim working, but if you use the right stick while shooting, you can manually target, and if you use the bumpers, you can do eight-way, Robotron-style control" - Too Human designer Henry Sterchi

That's just a taste of it really,

Wow...

I'm glad I played Halo 2 and got to experience that 'stand apart' effect a little earlier than everyone else.

I read the EGM article and it sounds pretty damn awesome, there is little doubt, but whenever I see screens this mint, I wait for some more actual in-game screens a little closer to launch before I get too excited.

Look, I was the same M'fer that was totally amazed by the first images of NBA2K6 prior to the 360 launch. Remember that post I did? I was talking about how the players actually looked like real human beings for the first time and I was totally amazed.

Well, on the right HDTV, NBA2K6 is absolutely amazing, when you see the close up detail of the players, etc.etc.

But if this shit is real... If those screens are real, actual, 360 screens, if it can really move all those characters, in real time, at full speed..... Well, if all that is real, then we are talking about a dream of dreams. Talk about something to hold people over to Halo 3.

Gears who???
