In defense of guys whacking off to video game characters, I'd have to take the same POV that I have re: guys that whack off to hentai (anime porn). An anthropology major buddy of mine confirmed what I had heard before, which is basically that guys generally (key word - generally) get off on images; actually seeing the boob, hole, skin, what have you, where as girls get off on feeling a certain way (usually secure) or being told that they are beautiful. So, if a guy locks the door to his room while he's watching cartoons or trying to pause street fighter II so he can see chun li's panties or whatever, more power too him.

The real reason I'm posting, though, is to say that I've had DOA volleyball for almost a week now, but my xbox is at my friends house almost 40 miles away! arrgh!

But it *is* fascinating, I think. Kind of like seeing games with monkeys in them for me. If there were a code to make all of the DOA girls turn into MONKEYS... HOW FUCKING COOL WOULD THAT BE!

By the way, the game itself is weird. I won't say that I don't like it, but as a volleyball game, it's weak. Beach Spikers OWNZ it in that regard. But the game has a certain relaxed approach: you play casino games, games of skill, and even has those "dating sim" aspects which are so popular in Japan. It's an interesting novelty, which makes it at least innovative. And we could all use more of that. But dammit wouldn't it ROCK if it had MONKEYS!?

Even when they are just a overcomplicated geometry problem like the DOA girls. I think it'd just increase the shear oddity of DOA:XBV, which is a strange game to begin with.

DOA:XBV is pure eye candy. and i like candy. there is a difference between getting entertained by beautiful animed breast and jerking off to something in the likes of "8mm" (you know, that movie about underground porn). yeah, penthouse would be cheaper, but there is much less interactivity between the user and the mag. the game offers a little more interactivity. the same goes with stripjoints. it's fun, but it isn't the real thing (SEX if you haven't figured it out yet). if DOA gets you off, then it's all right. if you like ball gags, it's all right. if you like doogy style, then it's all right. but if the act breaks major laws, then it's not cool. then it becomes criminal, then you must pay. (cause sex should be enjoyed and not feared).

To be fair, many of the gamers who get overexcited about stuff like DoA Volleyball are early adolescent males. And let's face it; at that stage in life, any vague suggestion of the female anatomy can turn you on. There were 13-year-olds who drooled over Samus Aran at the end of the original Metroid, I'd bet. Heck, I've heard of guys who were ogling Ariel's bellybutton in The Little Mermaid.

Fortunately, most of us grow out of this phase and find better channels for our hormones. Or we wind up hitting on women over internet message boards. Either way.

DOA is by no means, a "vauge suggestion."
