Picked up one of these today:

Hard to tell by that image, but they are two-toned white and bright green. Only $1.00, and proceeds go to the Boys and Girls club.
My Best Buy had HUNDREDS of these things in cool looking boxes at the counter. Each was individually packaged in a little baggie. I couldn't resist. Plus it's a good cause. Mine says "Challenge Me" But there are variants. Read the article on them here:

Anyone else see or get these?

I bought one of those yesterday. I thought it was a cool little collectible and I liked where the proceeds were going to. Spent a whole lot of summers at my local boys and girls club.

good to know they went to a cause...but still not going to cave. I still am pretty unconfortable with that "fad"

I bought mine when they first came out (like a month ago?) $1 for one and it went to a good cause...fine by me.
Mine says "Life is your game."

Same here, I wish they were at other places. Guess next time I'm close to a Best Buy(which doesn't happen to much) I'll pick one up.
Also, this is very coincidental(sp?) because I wore a wristband, today, first time in quite a few months, and what to I go to DP to find? I topic about them. Strange......

I saw a huge box of these at BB last week. I was about to stuff a bunch of them into my pocket thinking that they were free promo items but stopped when I realized they were actually charging money for them.
Seems kind of stupid to pay $1 to advertise for Microsoft and too give in to the whole junior-high plastic wristband fad, so I passed.

It's not about the boys and girls club, read the full article, it's going to fund a "Tech program" at the boys and girls club that "educates" kids about video game ratings, AKA, A WORTHLESS CHARITY. This is just a publicity stunt by microsoft to cover up their bad deeds. It's a shame that money would actually be wasted to for such a stupid program.

even if that is what the program is, it is at least keeping kids of the streets from getting into trouble and into a program where they are interacting with other children, so its still a good thing

The problem with this charity is that no one is going to enroll in it. Yes the boys and girls club is a wonderful cause, but establishing a worthless divison inside of the boys and girls club that NO ONE will enroll in is fruitless and a waste of money. Do you really think people are going to join the boys and girls club to learn about the ESRB? This "charity" is just a publicity stunt to make microsoft look like the good guys. I would support this idea if the money went directly into the the Boys and Girls Club general fund itself.

People have the wrong idea of this charity. The program is called "ClubTech" and this is what it is about:
Club Tech is a program created by Microsoft and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to “technology enable” more than 2,800 Clubs nationwide, bringing technology access programs to more than 4.4 million young people. By leveling the “virtual playing field,” youth of all ages and circumstances will have the same resources and skills to help them discover their world; expand creativity; perform better in school, and eventually take their technology know-how into the workplace.
Good thing to donate to IMHO.

we used to play where in the world is carmen sandeago and math blasters in grade school, and i used to get all excited when we would because it was the closest thing to playing videogames durring school.

"Edutainment" was the term used for those kind of games.
I thought "Number Munchers" was bad until i played the "Do the Math" requests in "Outrun 2". Driving fast, not crashing, watching the time/other cars, and trying to add shit up. x_x
