I don't sell video games, because I collect them and I don't buy doubles.. ^.^

I don't sell video games, because I collect them and I don't buy doubles.. ^.^

That's actually exactly the same rational that I have. When I first started collecting, I would go out hunting, buy a bunch of crap I didn't particularily want (for trade bait/or to sell), and I would end up selling it for basically the same price that I had origionally bought it for.
So one day I realized that it wasn't worth my time to go out and look for stuff that I didn't need.
Usually, if I don't have something (for whatever console), I'll keep it. But every once and a while I'll buy a lot of games and have a few doubles to sell off. So I have sold some games in 2006, but they are usually all locally and for a dirt cheap price, just so I can get them out of my house.

2 X Super Mario World cartridges. I think they were £6 each.

Game.com with 4 games for £8.50

Super Mario 64 cartridge for £7.50

I traded in a PSX with some games for £35.

I think that's about it.

I buy old games to resell them; but if I find a real gem, I keep it. :) Since I concentrate on PC games, though, I really don't get to keep that many games.

Need for Speed Most Wanted (XBOX)
Untold Legends (PSP)
Ape Escape (PSP)

Used it towards Guitar Hero which is better than all of those games combined.

World of Outlaws Sprint Cars 2002
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete
Pokemon Box - GC, US version
Final Fantasy Anthology strategy guide

hoping to sell set #1 of the wireless Dreamcast controllers of mystery... ooooooweeeeeooooo... :P (we will find out tomorrow).

I've been looking for that game in the wild because of how good everyone says it is...and I'm not sure I want to pay current ebay value for it :(

The only game I've sold (in a really long time) was Dragon Warrior VII a few weeks ago. I normally don't like selling games (I generally just buy games I want), but the horror stories of its length and slow pacing convinced me to just sell it off. Ended up making a bit of a profit on it, which in turn went to pay for some nice kitty cat windchimes and other little things for around the house.

seriously, those wind chimes kick ass.

roushimsx - It's not a bad game, but at the time, I had gotten it to trade...plus, I sucked at it :P. I've seen that game pop up a few times in this area. If I get another copy, you'll be the first to know.

I used to be in the business of selling videogames....but it wasn't profitable enough and I got tired of all that shipping.

I haven't sold anything this year, although I still have some leftovers sitting around that I need to auction off and clear out.

As for anything else? Well, I've gotten into selling used sports cars, mostly Japanese stuff to "tuner" kids.

So far this year I've sold 5 cars for a total revenue of about $22,000, with a little more than half of that being profit. Sure beats trying to make $50 on selling a rare FF7 guide or some nonsense.

I only remember selling my Neo Geo. If there's anything else, it might've been a trade of an NES for some comics or little things like that.

Based on the teachings of Mr. Club Ninja, I've been selling off lots of stuff of late, classic and new stuff, pretty much everything. Ran out of room, ran out of time. Speaking of which, if you're looking to buy, hit the link in my signature and let's work out a deal. :)

I don't recall what I've sold but it's been quite a bit. I do what Jumpman Jr. use to do: Buy everything interesting you find and if it's something you end up not wanting or already own, resell it. The only difference is I make some great profits off the resale to an extent that it helps pay for the games I keep, in addition to some extra money in my pocket for gas and food. I know there are a few games I can't recall that I wish I kept because I did end up breaking even on getting rid of them, and they were for the SNES. Maybe if this topic is still popular in the future I'll post on what I ended up selling so later down the road I can look back like "What the hell was I thinking?!".

Oh, geez. I unloaded a chunk of my game collection a month or so ago:

Saturn w/ 2 multitaps, about 10 controller, Action Replay 4-in-1, roughly 15 games including Panzer Dragoon Saga, Guardian Heroes, Saturn Bomberman, Capcom Generations, etc.

N64, 4 controllers, about 20 games.

2 Colecovisions, about 15 games including Slurpy.

Lots of miscellaneous ps2 & xbox games.

I've decided I'm more of a gamer than a collector. I like my DC collection and Cube collection, but in the end I just want to play games. Having a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga on the shelf was cool, and it was a great game, but I'm never going to play it again. And the money I got from selling this stuff let me get other things going that are more valuable to me. Plus, I think narrowing my collecting down to fewer systems will be more fun as my gaming dollars won't be spread out buying stuff for a million systems.
