Subject: Important Message from eBay Loss Prevention Department

The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety:

That looks like the standard message to me. You get one everytime you bid/win an auction by somoene who has been kicked from ebay.

Mmmm.

Last time I got one of these messys it said, "Although seller is suspended, you may decide to continue with this transaction."

But this new message explcitly says do NOT continue.

That's the difference.

Right. I've gotten both emails several times. It seems that ebay advises to you chargeback whenever the seller was suspended for fraud or something serious. You will get the "you may continue" email when the seller committed a relatively minor infraction to be suspended (posting an illegal item twice, having false contact info, shilling, etc).

Remember, some suspensions are temporary and just because a seller is suspended doesn't mean that he's gone forever.
