Got my Game Theory Admiral today

Backlit TFT portable Famicom. Need I say more? Google the name for info.

Anyways, the unit is damn good quality, but the packing is quite cheap (who cares though lol). The manual is in English, but isn't readable (makes no sense).

My question is... anyone else have one? I have tried many Famicom games, but I can't get it to work. Only get color lines up and down the screen...

I sure hope this isn't defective, I just got it today and I ordered it on April 11... x_x

Hmm...aren't there NTSC and PAL versions? Of course, if you can plug in FC carts, I don't see why they shouldn't work...

Could be because I'm using a double ended Hydron game tho lol

I have a backlit handheld Famicom player, that can play all the games and never freezes. I call it PSP.

grr damn lack of 1337 camera skillz...

The thing is a tad bit larger than a GBA. The thing sticking out of the top is mandatory, and no, it doesn't play GB games (weak).

I plan on getting a good Famicom multicart and having hours of gaming!

BTW, the batteries last 7 hours :D

Oh, and the TV output is amazing... looks like I have a ream Famicom plugged in!

The screen is VERY clear, and is TFT (not like the Game Gear or Game Axe... like an SP I beleve, but backlit).

one thing i learned, alot of pirate carts are very loose in the connector, but most legit games fit it correctly.

good luck in finding a good multicart that fits in snug, took me awile to get a decent one (think i got it on the forums here actually)

The thing sticking out of the top is a gameboy-like connector to Famicom adaptor, so they could make the unit smaller. Kinda cool actually, as the game acts as a glare sheild lol

I always wondered if the Gameboy-sized Famicom cartridge that comes with a Dr. Boy system would work in a Game Theory Admiral. I've heard that there were actually a number of different pirate carts sold in this particular design, so maybe it was something of a second cartridge format for the pirates and the GTA would have been designed with it in mind.

Well, assuming it even fits, but doesn't work, it wouldn't do any more damage to the system than putting a cartidge in backwards which you already did with no adverse effect, right.

Oh man! ...never seen a GTA box, somehow I thought they were more professional loooking than that. I thought the GTA was sold by one of those semi-reputable companies like GameTech, but that box lookis exactly like the Power Player stuff. "Appearance Of High Accuracy Color!"

The cart shown there almost looks like it could have the same dimensions of the carts that came with the Dr. Boy, but with the molding of a GBA cart.

I wish I'd kept one of the cartridges from one of the Dr. Boys that I had. I meant to keep one and sell its system as just a bare system (with the 60-pin Famicom adapter of course, and actually I was gonna through in a 72-pin NES converter, too, for Super Unstable Gaming) but I forgot that I hold sold the first already and sold the second off at some point along with its cartridge and everything, so now I have nothing).

A GTA would be much more attractive to me if I still had one of those carts to use as a multicart. As it is with that unstable-appearing adapter with it, it doesn't seem ver playable, but with one of those Gameboly shaped carts it might actually work.

I'd really love to have a nice little portable Famicom, I wish someone would make one. Something easier to use, and cheaper and with better battery life than just a GP32 or a Zodiac or something powerful like that but also something that you can load your own games on--preferably from an SD card or something--unlike those VG Pocket Max systems (which otherwise sounded very cool) and doesn't require a personal effort in building it llike Ben Heckendorn's systems do.

I wish someone would make one--you hear that Hong kong?--a portable system based on the Famicom-on-a-chip, with a nice design and a decent screen (preferabley laid out 256x224 pixels at 4:3 aspect) as well as TV output that can load any game off of an SD card and gets really good battery life.

The technology is almost there even for the pirates, we'll probably see something like that soon. I'd love it. All the Tetris and SMB hacks I want to play.

I'd love it for any system almost, but it just seems more likely to happen with the NES/Famicom because of its history of piracy. Though I suppose there's cheap modern architecture replacemnts for most systems around now actually, if you look at stuff like Majesco's Sega Legends Genesis systems or the portable DVD/media players coming out recently that have the SMS architecture built into them and of course even the old TV Boy systems that did 2600 stuff. There could be a whole lot of well made portable systems for each of the different pirated (the only one that was never really pirated enough was the SNES, but there's already the GBA anyway, which is kind of similar). I'd really love to have them. Definitely sound cooler than dealing with emulation and everything that goes with the more modern powerful systems that can emulate them them all but get shitty battery life. I'm counting on the pirates more than on Gamepark.

Are you able to play NES games on this, without them resetting?


I use a 'Family Converter' with my Game Theory Admiral and even though it's wobbly with NES games, it works fine and doesn't reset while moving around with it while on.

woah hey i got one of these complete and MINT in its box. are they worth pretty decent money?? i got mine when they first started popping up on ebay and now i dont see them anymore? Do i have something good here? Also mine plays perfect i only have one famicom game though :-(

From what ive heard, the Pocket Fami's are much much better in comparison...
You can still easily get hold of them too from Blaze (who imported them)

It looks alot nicer too

They also have a TV Out cable, so basically youve got a Universal NES for your TV :)
