Okay, before I say anything else, I just want to state that this PS2 does not play DVD movies for some strange reason. I have no idea why it won't, but that's just the way it is. I get a "dvd player not set up" message whenever I try to load one.

With that aside, the PS2 (v7 model) works great. I just got it professionally modded with a DMS4 Pro SE chip and it plays anything you can throw at it. Backups, imports, etc. Slap a HDD on and rip your games to it with the built in HDD utility on the chip. I purchased the PS2 new a year and a half ago, so the laser on it is still in great shape. Never had a single DRE on it. It's actually the Online bundle version that I have, so it comes with a network adapter too. All boxes, manuals, packing materials included.

Asking $150 + ship in the US. I just paid $55 for the chip and $35 for the install job, so it's a pretty sweet deal regardless of the dvd player prob. Just want to sell it because I'm running out of space in my entertainment center and would like to get a slim PS2 instead. Pics of everything are available. Just let me know if you have any questions.

Must... resist... urge... to buy...

I've been wanting to buy a PS2 for the past few weeks... ESPECIALLY an older model which can use a hard drive. All this E3 hype is making me drool. I don't have the money now - but uh, I guess you don't want any items from my for sale/trade list...

Dammit. Oh well, good luck.

Yeah, sorry, just looking to sell since I'm using to money towards a slim PS2.

In case anyone doesn't know anything about these mod chips, you can also store homebrew software to the chips flash memory (including emulators). There is one called SMS Media Player that will let you play AVI/DIVX movies on the PS2. I think there is a multi-region dvd player on it too, so you MIGHT be able to play DVD's with it. I just haven't been able to install it because I'm on a Mac and all the instructions for transferring the homebrew stuff are for PC's.

willing to consider a machine swap?

I mean I have a slim line and I'm tempted to trade up for a modded machine.

Ehhh, possibly. What version is it and how much cash would you be willing to add?

Naw, I'm getting rid of this so I can get a slim PS2. Don't need another fat one. Thanks anyway though.
