Anybody else tired of it?

The sad thing is, most of them catch themselves in lies RIGHT IN THEIR AUCTIONS, WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE, as you have just shown the world.

"Bought this as a gift for myself for the holidays, but then realized the holidays costed too much and I already had a PS2"

It's just missing a bit of engrish to totally blow your mind....

So what's the big deal about it? It's not possible that he bought a refurbished system, opened it but never used it?

What am I missing?

What are you missing? BRAND NEW XBOX NEVER BEEN USED.
obviously if it's refurbished it's been used and broken and re-used.
Just put XBOX Re-furbished in the title and see how many hits he gets. So he's lying to get hits.

EXACTLY!

The problem is there are many people on ebay that are too lazy to READ the entire auction and then are disappointed with what they get! That is the people sellers like this are targeting. Get an eye catching title, with a seemingly low BIN and eventually they will hook someone! I bet this seller gets his BIN price, unfortunately!

I don't know, I noticed the refurbished part immediately and just assumed that he was selling a newly bought refurbished unit. HP sells refusbished printers in sealed boxes in my local electronic stores. On one side yes, they're refurbished. On the other they are unopened from the factory. If you can get a good price I see nothing wrong with it.

We're not debating whether or not it's a " good buy "

It's LYING no matter how you look at it . It's not new or never been used as the Title says.
THAT'S the point. Putting LIES in your title to get people to look at your auction. Which by the way is against E-Bay policy and can get you banned just like keyword spamming.

My point is that I personally didn't think it was very misleading. The refurbished part was obvious to me.

I'm going to reply one more time and that's all.
You must be either 1. The seller of this item or 2. Stupid if you do not think it is misleading to put that an item is Brand New never used when it very clearly is.
By the way I have a New Dodge Viper to sell you with ony 122,345 miles on it. But it's been totally re-furbished. I'lll let you have it for $80,000 since it's New. :-D

Why do you feel the need to resort to name calling just because someone doesn't agree with you?

Lets say your Xbox breaks and you return it to EB World. EB World then takes this broken console and sends it back to Microsoft who it turn refurbishes it, reboxes it up and sends it back to EB World to sell as a discounted refurbished product. Now Joe goes to EB World and purchased this refurbished Xbox because he thinks that it's a great deal but before he opens it decides he doesn't want it anymore, he wants a PS2. So now Joe decides to sell this refurbished Xbox that he purchased still factory sealed from a retail store. Honestly, I'd have no problem with him calling it new as long as he clearly states that it was at one point refurbished.

Just my opinion

Oh, and NO, It's not my or anyone I know's auction.

I can see where both Griking & JonJandran are coming from.

Selling a "refurbished" Xbox is "sorta" like selling it new, considering the internal components probably are new. But, that does not make it all "new". Perhaps if it was once owned by someone and sent back for repair, the innards may be new, but the case may have a scratch, gouge, or dirt (pick any deformity you want) on it.

Sometimes "refurbished" doesn't leave the factory. The "new" product was only run through a series of diagnostics testing, found to be defective in one manor or another, sent back to be "refurbished". So, theoretically, it's basically all new, and never touched by human hands.

To draw a conclusion, lets keep it "nice" folks. :)

Wow. Has an "ebay insanity" thread ever been moved to the Battlezone?

"This auction sucks!"

"No way, dickweed!"

"Eat me, asshole!"
