according to some German magazine, the NGP B&W only had 9 releases.
True? Anyone know which ones?
I have:
NEOP00010 King of Fighters -Round 1-
NEOP00080 Samurai Shodown -Pocket Fighting Series-

Which 7 titles am I missing?

Melan Chan's Growth Diary
Puzzle Link
Pocket Tennis
KOF R1
Samarai Spirits
Neo Cup 98
Master of Syougi
Neo Cherry Master
Baseball Stars

These are the 9 released in Japan, the 10th is Neo Cup 98 plus that only saw the UK/Asian release. Most of these later had a color version released.

The five that have European/Hong Kong releases were:

Pocket Tennis
KOF R1
Samurai Shodown
Baseball Stars
Neo Geo Cup 98 Plus

NGC98Plus is essentially a b&w version of the later colour release, and different to the original NGC98 game.

So how come there were Euro releases for B&W when the NGP B&W was never released in Europe (or at least not in UK, according to Video Games Centre Bournemouth?)

They were released in Asia (which is everywhere but Japan, but mostly Hong Kong). The games may have been sold in Europe through SNK's website. They were definitely sold in the U.S. through SNK-USA's website.

So, Mayhem, have people decided that Cherry Master B&W was not released with English packaging? I could swear I remember seeing it on SNK-USA's website back in the B&W days and I imagine that they would only sell English packaged games. I may be remembering wrong, though; probably am since no one has ever come forward with an English version.

Here's my Neo Geo Pocket Software FAQ (sorry it's on Geocities):

That makes sense, since Britain owned Hong Kong at one stage...:-)

I came across my Tamagotchi from about that same time, I guess, in a box of other crap a few weeks ago and the guy is still flying his little UFO back to his home planet or where ever that was he left for when you "beat" the game (sorry for the spoiler, boys and girls). Pretty good life on a little button battery considering that that animation of him in his UFO has been playing continuously for like 7 years.

Never found one, no one has ever seen one, so it's 99.9% certain for Japanese only. Strangely enough, Cherry Master was indeed the last Japanese b&w game I needed; I got all the rare(r) English language releases well before it, even NCG98+ which is generally considered the rarest and most valuable of all b&w titles (last one on eBay went for over $250).

I got "lucky" with my copy of it, only paid 35 Euros for it from a seller in Spain who couldn't speak a word of English and didn't take Paypal. I'm sorely tempted to write that story as a LORE entry for the next edition of the Advance Guide LOL

As for the English language b&w titles in general, yes they were defo sold in Hong Kong. Where else, I'm not really sure, though they probably leaked in Europe in dribs and drabs either via official or imported means. After all, I wonder how Mr Spanish Guy above got his hands on the rarest one of the lot for example...?
