As the topic say, does anyone have a complete NES PAL collection? I know a few people have a complete US set, but what about PAL? I never heard of it nor seen it.

i think Ace (simplynes) has a full set minus the odd box / manual.

What odd box?

He means he may be missing a couple of boxes and manuals. The odd box being a handful of boxes.

Nope sorry :\ I need that one myself, along with Phantom Air Mission :) I'd say these 3 games (including Snowboard Challenge) are the hardest PAL games to find. They even top Rodland. Snowboard Challenge and Phantom Air Mission isnt even listed in the DP rarity guide.

I've got a pic of Phantom Air Mission somewhere. Can't seem to find it right now, though.

As for a complete PAL set, I highly doubt anyone has that at this point in time. The fact that PAL releases haven't been fully documented yet makes it pretty much impossible...

EDIT: Good question btw, jajaja! There hasn't been much talk about PAL NES collections, so I'm looking forward to see what some people have in their collections :)

well as i said Snowboard Challenge isn't in the list (or better: wasn't) because i didn't have a pic. Phantom Air mission is actually on the list (in fact it has been since months), just not in the online version

i guess you meant you need the game itself (PAM), right? if you need i pic i have that ;)

and yes, they top rodland, but i think Darkman also tops it, good thing the us collectors don't know... well, they didn't until now LOL

jajaja

Ye, i need the game hehe :) I have a pic myself, thanks anyway. Darkman aint easy to find indeed. Hopefuly i will find it someday ;)

I've seen Darkman multiple times, so I'm not sure if that really tops Rodland? What about the PAL versions of City Connection, Lethal Weapon, and Die Hard? Those seem to be pretty tough to find as well.

Also, I think the US collectors are just interested in PAL exclusives, so I doubt the demand for these rare PAL games will go up by much.

I did a trade with a guy a while back who was only a couple of titles away from a full collection of UK NES releases, but that won't include a large number of the rare non-UK PAL games.

yeah, not too sure about Darkman. you're right, the 3 you mentioned are really rare too. Was Lethal Weapon released in the Netherlands and Belgium too or just in France?

@anagrama

indeed, A LOT of games (and especially the rare ones) are missing if it's UK stuff only

jajaja

Ive only seen Lethal Weapon with french text on the label and box. Are there any rare UK NES games btw? I mean thats really hard to get.

I bought a loose copy from Belgium not too long ago, so it could have been released there...or just crossed borders at one point in time.

Same.

As for UK releases, isn't Eliminator Boat Duel pretty rare? What about some of the Codemasters games?

Hm.. ye, eliminator boat duel might be hard to find. It aint easy to find the PAL-B version either. I have a boxed copy, but i miss that freakin manual hehe :(

yeah, SCN afaik

btw, you 2, it has become very clear to me over time that you are both absolute experts on NES and your collection is specialized on that system. So, would you probably want to team up for the PAL NES list here at DP? i've got so many lists that i hardly find the time to do major updates on that one so i could need some help from two experts as you are :) what do you think?

Yes, its SCN (Bergsala) :)
Sure, as long as it doesnt contain too much work because im lazy haha ;)

I found "Castelian" the other day, UK version, with manual but no box, I'd never seen this title before, it seems pretty rare, its by STORM entertainment, the same people I believe that made Eliminator Boat Duel..

Imagineering, I think. As far as I know the game is the same as Heavy Shreddin' in the US, even though it is published by a different company. Heavy Shreddin was developed by Imagineering and licensed to Parker Bros.

It would be great to hear about what (if any) NTSC North American titles you PAL NES collectors find desirable.

In the interest of spurring international trade.

I am going for a complete NTSC set, but I guess that doesn't make me much of a PAL collector ;)

well as usual all the exclusive ones, with Capcom and Nintendo stuff and RPGs as the most interesting ones

it's the same game as the US release Flight of the Intruder

Does anyone know anything about a NES version of Robocod (James Pond II)? I thought this game had actually been released but I can't find any information about it so am probably wrong. It was reviewed in the magazine TOTAL! so there must have been a fairly complete version of it.

Here is the review. It was a double page spread with Robocod and Barbie so you get the joys of that game too. LOL

Thanks for the scans. It wouldnt be anything without the Barbie article tho haha LOL
Its wierd, it even says "out now" and got a retail price. It doesnt suprise me that much that it was canceled tho, the article is from late 1993. Pretty late for a NES game. They probly decided to release it for SNES instead.

Interesting I've never heard of Snowboard Challenge and those other games.

I don't think Erica Cantona's Football Challenge Goal! 2 is that incredibly rare. Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt seems a lot harder to find.

Ye, its not very rare. It was just in the same pic to show Snowboard Challenge, not Goal 2 ;) Its not easy to find complete tho. Here are my copies of Pugsley's Scavanger Hunt. One complete PAL-A and 1 loose PAL-B :)
