So in your opinion - What game do you think deserves this years "Best of show" award?
My vote would either go to Gears of War or Spore.
My vote for biggest suprise was Capcom's Lost Planet.. The demo was bad-assed - I'm still playing it...

Spore looks pretty cool.
As for what I'm looking forward to the most? Probably Super Mario Galaxy.....I think that a lot of people would say that.
I'm not terribly on about Gears of War, looks nice though.
The idea of a DS Web Browser definitely also piqued my interest, but that's not a game.

I hate to say a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of vanilla, but Super Mario Galaxy followed by Halo 3.
While Sunshine was a misstep IMHO, Super Mario 64 is one of my favorite games. Based on the videos and hands-on previews, I really want to try it out...
The Halo 3 trailer looked awesome. Besides making FPSes really "work" on consoles, HALO really set a sci fi great tone (even though it borrows from Aliens more than a bit). Being late to the Xbox I still have to finish the first Halo and don't have Halo 2. But that trailer worked...
Also rans...
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)
Guitar Hero II (PS2)
Rogue Galaxy (PS2)
Excite Truck (Wii)
Every Extend Extra (PSP)
Intellivision Lives! (DS)
Contact (DS)
Cheers,
Ben

Intellivision Lives! (DS)
Woah... I totally missed that one! That ought to be interesting to see how they pull that off.
The DS touchscreen would make a pretty good inty controller. It would definitely be a far cry from the previous attempts to emulate the controllers. Especially the numeral pad.
And I have to throw one more game on my 'surprise' list... The announcement of Lumines Live for XBLA. The folks running Arcade have made some brilliant choices, lately, IMO. I also can't wait for Sonic (on Arcade.. Still up in the air on the next gen versions)

I'm going with SUper SMash Bros. Brawl solely because Nintendo pulled a fast one. They added in Snake, Pit, Meta Knight, Zero Auit Samus, and Wario. They're appealing to the masses quite successfully.
SHOW TIME!

One thing that really impressed me was EA's presentation, where they showed their next-generation advances in their sports games for PS3. Virtual athletes not only sport a greater polygon count, but they show a far greater range of movement and awareness. Comparisons were made between PS2 and PS3 models for NBA Live, and it was a pretty startling difference. I was reminded of the first time I saw NFL2K on Dreamcast, which showed a great leap forward in player animation.
I'm hopeful that EA Sports' new advances will make their way to the 360 titles; I think expecting that on Wii is just asking far too much.
As for actual games, Super Mario Galaxy looked exciting and fun. Wherever Nintendo's scoring their magic mushrooms, they've got to keep it up. We'll no doubt have to wait endlessly, but it'll be worth it.
More Wii titles: Excite Truck looked terrific, and offered everything I like in racing games, except for multiplayer, which I hope will be included. It's my God-given right to crash my truck into everyone else's.
Wii Sports, obviously. It's destined to be the party game of the year. A free hand to hold mugs of beer!
What else? A lot of sequels, and I'm sure they'll be great, but still. Too many sequels. I'll keep my eyes open for the sleeper surprises.
