It's called the Super Columbine RPG, it looks like a old style RPG, The site for this game is columbinegame.com
I really don't know what to say as far as thoughts about this "game", I just wondered what everyone else here thinks.
I know this game is very distastefull but, would we all be happier and feel better about playing it if the characters looked middle-eastern?
I dunno, thoughts please...

Yay, more fodder for the Jack Thompson-ites out there.
Some things are better left alone.

I really can't tell if they are glorifying the killers or mocking them.
Every time they say "...for all the shit they put us through!"

Its just a bunch of morons who think they are doing art or something seriously cool or controversial(theres controversy than theres attention whoring) As for the game the concept is ridiculous.

That's stupid. And it looks like it was made by the RPG Maker program.

I'll play devil's advocate and say that even though it's in bad taste, it has every right to exist and people have every right to make things like this. I didn't even look at the site, but chances are it's just a couple low-effort douchebags looking for attention and little else. Still though, I don't see how a game based around this could constitute an entire game so much as perhaps a minigame.

Curious that this game is being mentioned in some (but not all!) media reports about the recent shooting in Montreal.

Hell, most of the reports I've read somehow work it into either the headline or the first sentence of the article.

What made me *really* laugh was my first time hearing about the shooting. They blamed the game and *Heavy Metal* if you can believe that.
Didn't blaming Heavy Metal go out of style like 20 years ago?!?
Anyway, made me lose all my respect for the radio station in question (680 NEWS).

Looks like a crappy game that is only being made to attract attention. I don't have a problem with somebody making a Columbine game, as long as it's nicely made, but this just looks BAD BAD BAD.

was this the game that jack tompson dared a company to make? I remember reading in a magazine that he dared a game company to make a game based on the columbine shooting and have it published?

No, Jack Thompson's "modest proposal" never mentioned Columbine explicitly.
The game known as I'm OK (http://imokgame.com/) was a fairly creative response to that one, though.

Funny, this game has been floating around for awhile now, but just today,
Next-Gen (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3825&Itemid=2) has an artical that refers heavily to the game.
And a few weeks ago they had an
interview (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3663&Itemid=35) with the creator.
I haven't played it, but I would be interested in the opinion of anyone who has.

The game is very haunting and strange. I don't think that they really glorify the killers at all. You have to play it to understand what I mean. I would recommend anyone with a strong stomach give it a try.

I've started playing it. I didn't play it all the way through yet but I think it's brilliant in its own way. Like prismra says, it doesn't seem to glorify the killers. To me it seems to be an attempt to use a video game as a way of allowing the user to experience the whole cononundrum from their perspective, which is not glamorous. While I question the historical accuracy of the games contents, I think that they definitely give you something to think about. The part that really catches my attention is when they're apologizing to their parents on video camera, telling them "it's not your fault, mom and dad", etc. I think that a gamemaker without a conscience would forget to put stuff like that in finished product. Combine that with the games in-menu remarks about what the shooters are wearing (backwards hat; fuck the establishment!) and the whole "artistic vision" can get convoluted.
Videogames are art, and art can get a powerful respose from people, but It's not fair to judge art until you've experienced it. As such, those naysayers should probably download the game and try it. If they still hate it, then we'll really have something to talk about. We shouldn't bitch about what we don't understand.
