Every classic gamer mark your calendars for Sept. 30th as I am having my first Arcade / Classic gaming collecting party here in SoCal. I am paring up with SC3 ( http://www.classicgaming.com/sc3/ ) and we are working out the details right now for this gathering. I will have at least 30 arcade games to play in my gameroom, a table set up with classic consoles and computers for people to play (Atari, Coleco, Nintendo, Apple II, Amiga, etc), the HDTV with a PC connected to it playing any Emu you want, and the pot luck :-P I have already spoke to some big console collectors and they will be bring lots of goodies to sell/trade. Since there will be no CGE this year, this will be a great time to have a party and collectors can do their trades. I am located in the LA county. Here is the list of arcade games I own...

More details to come.

Just replying to Steve's message here: our initial 'brain picking' meeting has just commenced, and like the old days ('97-2001)I'm now the point man for (albiet rather early) RSVP's.
Geoff's playing Papa Bear again! :D
...and I got to paw a Wizard of Wor machine for the first time in YEARS...

Anyone in N. Cali who might be thinking about going down, I'm probably driving down there for this... so carpooling could be a possibility.

Wow, YES YES YES!!!! I should be in LA by that time. I'm in Saint Paul now. I am going there hopefully by the end of this month or early next and should be there in September. I am definitely going to try to make it to this one. PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED AS I AM 99.9% THERE AS LONG AS I AM IN LA ALREADY AND BARRING SOME UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES. Definitely keep me in the loop for this gathering, shertz. Do you want me to bring something. I have 2 Neo Geo AES systems that I could contribute if people are interested in playing and a SUPERGUN with some PCB's and an MVS 2 Slot. Of course I'm not going to drag them there if there's going to be no interest in them. Anyway let me know shertz what you don't have (hardware wise) and I'll check to see if I have it and I'll bring it if there's a good deal of interest in playing them.

I should be. That's an odd tradition of mine (That and Joyboard Combat) at SC3 meets.
On a related point, if anyone reading this is one of the "Old Guard" from the old Pre-2002 meets (you know who you are) we want you there. It's been a while since we've all gotten together.

There will be a post for the "official word" out in the next month or so to for people to RSVP. That way everyone has a fair chance of getting in since there will be limited entries.
What arcade games should be in the Arcade competition? I was thinking of Robotron and Tempest. Of course there will always be the 4-player Warlords cocktail ;)

Shertz, I might be bringing my supergun with me to LA along with my 2 slot MVS board. Let me know if you want me to bring it. I also have the AES home system and could bring it as well. I have more fighting games on the AES. Let me know if you and others will be interested in playing. If not enough people are interested then I won't bother hauling all that stuff with me.

That sounds cool. Is this a NEO GEO cab? If so Im not sure if I'll have any space left. I have about 20 - 30 arcade games in my garage right now. Maybe we can set it up in another area or something. We'll discuss it more as we get closer to Sept.

It's a supergun (Let's you play arcade PCBs on a TV) I ain't bringing a cab!!!!!!!!!! :eek 2: But don't have much fighters for it. I have an AES. I have A LOT more fighters for it than my cab. I guess I'll bring my AES since I see you already have a lot of arcade stuff in your garage.

Will any Nor-Cal'ers need a sofa to sleep on? I have two sleepers in my apt, and if one doesn't mind the game systems you'd have to wade through in our living room, there my place.
