A few months ago I bought Animaniacs for the Gamecube. Hit a pretty bad bug very shortly into it, so it went on the shelf. EB's having a big special deal on trade-ins right now, so I hauled out my stack of unwanted orphans and brought them in. The guys behind the counter had never seen it, and we were all surprised when it came up as worth $!5 CDN. I've been checking the title out on eBay, and it doesn't seem to be selling for anything ridiculous. but I noticed only the Gamecube version was available. Anybody have any ideas about the possible rarity of this little oddball?

I doubt it'll be any rarer than other late generation Gamecube games. That said, I've only seen the game twice; once at Gamestop and a stack of 'em at Best Buy, where I bought it. There is supposedly a GBA and DS companion game with it, but I've yet to see that one. (I think it was called Animaniacs: Lights Camera Action)

On a side note, I thought it was a halfway decent platformer; if they'd just spent more time polishing the graphics and gameplay, and fixed several annoying bugs, it coulda been quite the hidden gem of this generation.

What bug was it? I encountered a couple of "stuck in the wall" glitches, but nothing game ending.

The water tower mini-game. The top piece just won't go on. I've tried it over and over and over again. The verdamnt thing just won't click into place. Can't build the water tower, can't proceed to the second "world". It's too bad, as I was enjoying it a fair bit, though I could see the vocal samples getting pretty old, pretty quickly.

Have you seen any copies for the Xbox? ebgames.com has Gamecube copies in stock, but Xbox is "backordered", and I've never seen a copy of the game for any platform before or since mine.

I know it exists on the PS2, but I've yet to see an Xbox version. I know the game came out in Europe MONTHS before it came out here.

The dialouge didn't get on my nerves as much as I thought it would; in fact, a lot of the ingame cutscenes are pretty danged funny, and the further you get into the game, the more twisted some of the comedy gets, to the point I actually wondered how the heck they slid by with an "E" rating. *L*

I eventually finished the tower minigame, it took a couple of tries though. I remember the top piece kept sliding off over and over again though. But if you think that was annoying, you should try the "mine digging" minigame... ugh, pure hell.

Looks like the PS2, GBA and DS versions made in out in Europe, but not in the States.

I too thought it would end up being a HTF title, but I'm not so sure now since Best Buy is carrying it in addition to GS and EB.
