A lot of them appear to be for the guide, not the game, since they constantly refer to them as "books." I really don't know what the deal is, since I've never used Half.com before. Maybe they are charging insane shipping charges? There's no way anybody can legitimately sell COD2 for $3 or less and make any sort of money on the deal. The game still retails for $60 at just about every game outlet.

"* Actual items for sale may vary from the above information and image."

So basically they are saying, buy at your own risk!

@_@ :eek 2: :roll:

Half.com is owned by eBay and kind of works like a big "Buy It Now" sale. As mills said, "Buy at your own risk" applies, just like on eBay. But, like eBay, if the guy has a good item description and good feedback, you're probably safe.

You can find deals there that seem too good to be true, but they sometimes are. I've bought several things and got burned only once, IIRC. It used to be better for deals before eBay bought it and it became well-known. :)

Absolutely DO NOT GO BY THE PICTURES (they are all "stock" photos) and read the item descriptions carefully.

My best friend does tens of thousands of dollars of business on half.com so I can tell you with some authority that half.com operates completely differently then ebay

You are not paying the seller directly and they are not setting the shipping cost. Half collects all the money then gives it to the seller, and half sets the shipping price based off the type of item. If a seller gets complaints about not selling the type of item listed (like in this case the game Call Of Duty 2) then they will get there account suspended and won't have access to the money half.com owes them until suspension is up.

Half is not scammer free, but it is much better then ebay, and when you get ripped off half.com can refund your money.

I've only used half.com once, but it was definitely one of those "too good to be true" deals, and I didn't get burned in any way.

Got me a Lunar 2 Hardcover strat guide for $32 shipped. Totally mint.

You'd think after finding a deal like that I'd pay more attention to the stuff there but I'm really lazy :(

I've had lots of good transactions on Half.com as a buyer. The deals USED to be great. Not so much anymore. Make sure you read the descriptions and ask questions if need be. Half.com has set categories and not everything is covered. If someone is selling a GUIDE to a game there may be no other way to list it other than to list it under the guide's game and then make sure you say THIS IS FOR THE GUIDE ONLY or something like that.

I clicked on the first seller in the link provided and checked out their feedback. Woo hah! I'd sooner trust Charles Manson!

Half.com seems to have been screwy lately. A lot of listings have been mixed up. I'd wait a few days to see if things get sorted out before buying anything slightly suspicious, like a video game from "thebookpros".

Would you honestly mind paying .75 cents and then having it just be the startedgy guide? Not really with shipping it still wont be that much, but on the offshoot that it is the game then holy hell manYou could buy 7 copies of duck hunt with that shit

been seeing this on a lot of items on half recently, also looks like the real games are gone that should be listed. Who knows what you'll get if you order. Hopefully, it will get fixed soon.
