PS2 rarity guides

I'm new here but i noticed that there are no rarity listings for PS2 games here at digital press and i think PS2 games are the best to collect. Its great to go to an EB or something and see a used Disgaea or Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 sitting there on the shelf. Who has a list of all the rare PS2 games and the rarity level from 1-10?

It's kinda hard to make a rarity list for something that's still being produced for. Wait a few years and a comprehensive list will probably be made by then.

Yeah, there's still reprints of many of the rarer PS2 titles. Look at the recent reprints of Gitaroo Man. Disgaea has been through many reprints -- now it's somewhat easier to find.

It's hard to get a good fix on what's rare until the games stop being produced. Hell, look at some of the recent PS1 reprints like Persona 2, Breath of Fire IV, Rhapsody -- all were hard to find before, but were recently reprinted.

so are these reprints official from the companies or more of a unliscensed bootleg style of reprint? plus how can i tell whether or not a copy i buy at EB or game crazy is a reprint or not?

only thing they are missing is the white seal when you buy them factory sealed. If they are open there is no way of knowing. So you would not know if you bought them at EB games or Gamestop. They are authentic and exactly the same as the originals.

I demand a Wii rarity list! After all, how do I know what's rare and what's not rare for a system that's not out yet?

Once the releases trickle down to a few a month, which will be a while from now, rarity for indvidual titles is going to fluctuate. I've been trying to gather intel to make a preliminary list, but a lot of games are only rare by geographical location...so it makes the list a bit tough to discren. Once I get something together, which I hope to be soon, I'll make a thread in the Collector subforum for discussion.
